Commissioned for a long distance trip that took her from California to Alaska, "Abina" is a beautiful example of how the Kadey-Krogen 39 is a proven design when it comes to exceptional seaworthiness in luxurious comfort. Fresh water kept, every element of this vessel is superior. Powered by a single John Deere 115hp diesel housed in an engine room/work shop space that offers standing headroom upon entry, these boats have unbeatable fuel efficiency capable of a cruising range of 2,400 nautical miles at 7.5 knots. The full displacement hull provides stability in all kinds of sea states yet she remains easily maneuverable thanks to the unique articulating rudder, large prop and bow thruster. The full walk-around deck design provides safety for the crew while they access the bow or come back to the fully enclosed aft deck. Stepping inside the interior one instantly is drawn to the stunning teak woodwork found throughout this vessel. The main salon is surrounded by windows with ample seating for guests around a custom table that converts to a double berth if needed. The gourmet galley is a marine chefs dream as not only is it tastefully equipped with a large fridge/freezer, propane stove and oven, corian countertops and storage capable of provisioning a lengthy voyage with ease, it is positioned on the same level as the main salon to keep the conversation flowing while meal preparations are underway. Stepping up into the pilothouse that provides fantastic visibility, the interior helm station is well appointed with easily visual gauges and electronics monitoring ship performance. Access to both port and starboard decks is provided by Freeman aluminum dutch doors and an additional single pilot berth is easily converted if needed. Down below the master cabin and head with separate shower is the ultimate in Captains quarters with a large centreline berth, tons of storage and easy access to the engine room if needed. Surveyed in April 2025 and available with your choice of moorage at our Sidney location or near Steveston (with marina approval), Abina is available to view by appointment on our Sales Dock at Westport Marina. Please contact our Vancouver Island Sales Office at 250-656-5832 to schedule a showing of this impressive vessel.

After meeting in college at Marquette University, our life has been building in momentum ever since. After raising 3 kids and having worked as electrical engineers for over 50 years collectively, we decided it was time for a change. We decided to sell Farraige, a Catalina 42, and purchase a new Nautitech 46 Open to begin our new chapter in our life cruising and traveling. We packed up our primary residence in San Jose, CA and sold our home. We gave away, sold and put in storage our possessions, packed a U-haul, and started our cross-country roadtrip across the United States to Virginia, where While One was on the hard. We were in our mid-50's when we made this leap. We have immense gratitude for having the opportunity, at such a young age, to retire. The pandemic changed our outlook, as I know it's changed many others as well. Giving up our awesome jobs at Apple was the most difficult thing we've done. I know I'll never get that back. Will our savings last? Will we be able to have a standard of living we've come to enjoy? Come join us on this journey. Not only will you get to see how we cruise, but you'll eventually get insight into what we had to do to get here, what it takes to keep going, and all of the challenges associated with this lifestyle...like Boat Insurance, Health Insurance, Domicile, connectivity while cruising, etc. In case you're wondering where the name While One came from. Both Sherine and I are Electrical Engineers. Sherine retired as a firmware engineer working for Apple for AirPod. I retired leading the Watch System Architecture team. Suffice it to say, we've written a lot of lines of code. We wanted a name that reflected our personalities and who we were. We wanted a name that was unique. After months of brainstorming and deliberation, we settled on While One. For those of you that know "C" or other similar computer languages, a "while one" loop is an infinite loop. While we hope we can do this forever, we know at some point we will not. Please subscribe and come follow us Sailing While One. while(1) { sailing(); } #sailingcatamaran #boatlife #catamaran #travelvlog #digitalnomad #lifestyle #sailboats #sailing #cruising #offgrid #nomad #sail #boat #multihull #whileone #sailingwhileone
