In fact, the Giant Squid (cousin to this Caribbean Reef Squid) has the largest eyes on the entire planet at a minimum of 10 in / 25 cm in diameter. Even the Blue Whale does not compare at 11 cm. What’s strange is small eyes can actually see dramatically further so why the enormous eyes? Large eyes are thought to be better at seeing large objects that give off their own light in deep water. With the Atlantic hurricane season approaching thousands of sailboats are heading towards safer waters. Many come down to Trinidad, which is seen as a safe place to store your yacht. The shipyard Power Boats hauled a Leopard Catamaran from the same series as us, the Leopard 45. It's the first of at least 5 who are coming this season, and we look forward to meeting or catching up with the other owners.
