A short video of our Race on 23-01-19 on Moreton Bay, winds to 25knots. We hit our speed record of 20.5 knots unfortunately we only recorded 20.2.... Great fun also some footage of our tacking duel with Seraya - a fast mono hull. We were doing 11.5 knots upwind... then we screwed up our spinnaker run - such is life. Thanklsfully I didn't reoced that disaster! Haha.

PANAMA POSSE HUMPBACK SEASON IN BANDERAS BAY, MEXICO 🇲🇽 Humpback whales migrate to Banderas bay and Mexican mainland coastal bays to the north and south during the northern hemisphere's winter months. They come from the cold waters off Alaska and Canada to the warmer waters off Mexico to breed and give birth. During this time whales can be seen giving breaching, tail slapping, and fin waving lessons to their newborns or putting on BIG splashy shows for their friends or foes. Humpback whales are singers and their song can be heard up to 7 nm away. Listen closely and you may even hear their song through the hull of your boat. Exiting the Narrows of Strangford Lough and crossing the Bar mouth to head out into the Irish Sea is always exciting when you have wind verse tide. The passage was out in this years Ardglass Race hosted by East Down Yacht Club was no different. J109 GTR powered through the biggest seas which were breaking over the deck at there steepest point.
