Intro zu unserem YouTube-Video "Gestrandet auf Ærø. Wie ein Sturm unseren ersten großen Südsee-Törn stoppte". Moin! Wir sind Rika und Johannes aus Hamburg. Zusammen mit Rikas Schwester Julia hat uns vor ca. vier Jahren das Segelfieber gepackt. Seitdem ist die Hamburger Außenalster unser Heimatrevier. Hier liegt unser Kielzugvogel „Knysna“ [ˈnaɪzna] (benannt nach einer Stadt in Südafrika), den wir uns im April 2021 zugelegt haben. Während der Wintersaison der letzten beiden Jahre haben wir uns step-by-step dem Refit unseres Vollholzboots gewidmet. Ein bis dahin völlig unbewandertes Terrain für uns, aber: man wächst an seinen Herausforderungen. Neben der Außenalster zieht es uns immer wieder an die Ostsee, insbesondere die Dänische Südsee mit ihren kleinen Inseln und dem teils kristallklaren Wasser hat es uns angetan — das perfekte Revier, um die eigenen Segel-Skills Stück für Stück zu erweitern. Auf Instagram (@unter.segeln) und auch gelegentlich hier bei YouTube nehmen wir euch mit in unsere kleine Segel-Welt. ----- Unser erstes YouTube-Video folgt nächste Woche Sonntag (03.09.2023) von einem Teil unseres zweiwöchigen Törns durch die Dänische Südsee. Week 4 of the season ending Frosties Regatta at Strangford Lough Yacht once again say some tight racing in the IRC 1 class. The crews were greated with with 8 to 12 knots of breeze from North West which increase to 20 in the rain squalls. The J109 Going To Red and the A35 Le Bascular continued there matching racing series to see who would take the title of Frosties Champion 2023. The team on J109 GTR lead early but were run down on the first run to be just behind the A35 at the leeward mark. A tight rounding on the J109 couple with some issue getting the kite down allowed GTR to snatch the lead back. After stretching out a good lead on the second beat GTR looked to have a comfortable run home until they tangled with Attica and Atalante, the team recovered to lead around the bottom mark. After some debate the team decide it was best to do some turn incase they had infringe before beating up into the oncoming rain squall. Now that my daughters are growing up and have their own plans nowadays, I am much more by myself and that takes some time to get used to. I knew this moment was coming, but experiencing it is something else. 😳 How do I deal with ‘Vita’ instead of mum...well, solo sailing, for instance! Exciting but completing from A-B-A on your own gives me such a positive boost. It feels like a victory and makes me stronger every time.☺️ How do you cope with change of life?❤️
