Foi dada a largada para a 48ª Semana Internacional de Vela de Ilhabela realizada entre os dias 24 e 31 de julho de 2021, no Yacht Club de Ilhabela (YCI), no litoral norte paulista. Neste domingo (25), aconteceram as primeiras regatas, Alcatrazes por Boroeste, Ilha de Toque-Toque e Renato Frankenthal. O grande encontro da modalidade conta 80 barcos das principais classes de vela oceânica, como ORC, RGS, Mini Transat, Multicasco, Bico de Proa, Clássicos, C30 e HPE25. E, pela primeira vez, reúne regatas presenciais e virtuais, com as provas online feitas pelo aplicativo Virtual Regatta Inshore. I've been sailing since I was a teenager, starting with dinghies, though I took a long break from sailing altogether. Now, aboard a 40-foot boat, I've realized the importance of staying fit as I navigate this less nimble vessel. Sailing a bigger boat comes with greater challenges, where a knockdown can have much more serious consequences. But it`s never too late to learn! and I am learning a lot!
