Turn to Starboard use sailing to support Armed Forces personnel affected by military service. We help serving and retired military personnel with physical injuries or mental trauma, and their families, to benefit from the therapeutic effects of sailing and the sea. Based at Falmouth in Cornwall, we offer several strands of activity including Royal Yachting Association (RYA) sailing courses, family sailing trips, Zero to Hero programme, Tall Ship sailing and competitive racing. The focus is on resettlement, reintegration and reinforcing a sense of value and belonging for participants, along with an opportunity to gain professional sailing qualifications to start new careers in the marine industry. The Nav station has been extended into the salon by about 4 inches (100mm) which allows some additional area to be opened up for electrical components. When it's too cold to go sailing, we turn to the Camden Snow Bowl for the annual US Toboggan National Championships! The crew at Lyman-Morse used our boatbuilding craftsmanship to build toboggans out of the traditional material of wood, but also out of carbon fiber. Winter gets a bad rap in Maine, but we love it just as much as summer.
