Miller, who was later known as Ben Lexcen, used many of the design principles seen in Taipan on the successful Australia II. The Lahakai sailboat is a 34” custom built steel sailboat, made in 1997 in France and sailed all the way to the shores of Brazil. It was then brought to Niteroi where she sat completely neglected in a boat club for 10 years. And that’s when we found her!
