In the heart of the Mediterranean, some races become legends. The Rolex Middle Sea Race is one of them. It unfolds on the sea of the Greeks, the sea of the Romans—waters rich with history, culture, and raw natural beauty. And then there’s Sicily, dramatic and enchanting, guarding the course like a silent giant. Out there, nothing is ever the same: shifting winds, unpredictable patterns, conditions that must be read, interpreted, respected. This year, the breeze was kind—steady, manageable. Yet the magic was all there. ✨ There’s something truly unique about this race.Something that every sailor, sooner or later, dreams of experiencing. @rolex@skysports.#TheBoatShow #RolexMiddleSeaRace #SailingPassion #MediterraneanMagic #RacingSpirit #SailLife #YachtingWorld #FromSeaToSky
The Fishermans Knot is a simple but effective way to join two lengths of rope together. The knot is more secure than a sheet bend under light load as you can tighten the overhand knots around the main lines which prevent the knot from coming undone before load is put on the lines. The Fishermans knot is preferred to tying a sheet bend when the rope diameters are the same. If you are going to have constant high levels of load on the joined lines the Fishermans Knot will become hard to untie, if you are join ropes which will stay under constant load are Sheet Bend will work better. Learning how to tie a fisherman knot is easy, most people already know how to tie a overhand knot, the Fishermans knot is tied by combining two overhand knots.
