I capsized the Duo dinghy in a controlled test a couple of years ago. Here you see me capsizing it, righting it and then sailing away. You can see it is very stable, the tubes add a huge amount if extra stability and act as fenders when coming alongside, yet are not in the water in normal use. The Duo is a 2 sheet plywood dinghy that was built in 2 days. It can be rowed, sailed or motored. A nesting option is available. You can buy plans and see more details here http://sailingcatamarans.com/index.php/designs-2/46-beach-cats-and-dinghies/420-duo-10ft-sailrow-dinghy (this video has no audio)
► Full test in Multihulls World 189: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/motor/leopard-40-pc-maximum-comfort-in-compact-size ► A third powercat in the Leopard range. ► Following the launch of two large models - the 53 and 46PC - and the retirement of the very successful 43PC, it came as no surprise to discover a new compact model from Robertson & Caine, the 40PC. In terms of design, this powercat blends perfectly into the new range with very long hull windows and an immense flybridge. It features an imposing panoramic coachroof with a beautiful L-shaped galley and, despite being shorter in length, manages to house great cabins all equipped with island beds and bathrooms. But the real plus compared to the 43PC? Aboard this model, there’s a proper interior helm station. ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Robertson & Caine Length: 40’ (12.19 m) Waterline length: 39’7” (12.07 m) Beam: 21’8” (6.61 m) Draft: 3’5” (1.04 m) Displacement: 28,819 lbs (13.07 t) Water: 170 US gal (640 l) Fuel: 370 US gal (1,400 l) Engines: 2 x 250 - 320 - 370 HP Cruising speed: 17 knots Top speed: over 20 knots ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! Despite its name, the #FlyingGurnard does not actually fly in the air like a bird or insect. Its specialised pectoral fins are actually enlarged and resemble wings. These "wings" are brightly coloured and have intricate patterns, making them visually striking. When threatened or startled, the Flying Gurnard spreads its pectoral fins wide open, creating the illusion of flight as it glides through the #water. This display serves as a defence mechanism to intimidate potential predators and deter them from attacking. While it may not truly fly, the Flying Gurnard's unique adaptation allows it to move gracefully and swiftly #underwater.
