Rose is learning to help out around the yacht, one job at a time! She started hovering at the top of the ladder whenever I was trying to get out so I’ve started passing her gear from the water so she can carefully grab it and set it down on the transom. She’s still figuring it out (some bites are better than others 😂), but the goal is to have her drop everything on the deck or in a bucket, maybe even working up to doing it on the tender too! Depending on weather, time, tide, and the course syllabus, we try to visit Newtown Creek, on the Isle of Wight. At the mouth of the Newtown River is the beautiful Newtown Creek. A large natural harbour and nature reserve. This secluded and peaceful anchorage is always a treat for our students. Bustling with wildlife there are opportunities to see birds, waders and waterfowl. If you step ashore you might even spot one of the elusive red squirrels. In this video you can see two of our fleet. Sazarac is a Beneteau Oceanis 38.1 and Fusion III is a Beneteau Oceanis 41.1.
