This video explores how you sail a triangular course and explores some of the basic rules you will encounter as you learn to sail such as the port and starboard rule and when you have right of way and when you need to give way. As part of the video you'll be asked some basic questions and the video will pause giving you time to respond and reflect.

Should you have not received yours, kindly inform me at your earliest convenience. We've transitioned to a new system to facilitate our updated membership structure. As you may recall, at our AGM, we collectively embraced a 'pay what you can' approach, aiming to democratize our membership further. Please check your emails for the renewal link, where you can opt to pay via a subscription model through Stripe (our preferred method for its ease of management) or via bank transfer, should that be your preference. Upcoming Events: JD Long Trophy Race: Join us this Saturday at 12:30 for an exhilarating race. John has been meticulously planning our race schedule, and it's shaping up to be a competitive season. Wednesday Evening Races: Starting on the 3rd of April, we'll resume our evening races at 7 p.m. It's a perfect mid-week sailing opportunity. Tuesday Night Training: Kicking off on the 9th of April, our training sessions are open for all. Whether you're keen to learn, assist, or simply enjoy the sport, your participation is warmly welcomed. Open Day - 20th April: A call to arms for volunteers! In this week's session, we recap on how boats move and stop. We look at basic weather forecasting and then we look at parts of a sailing boat. Watch the video to learn about different parts of the boat and how to rig a Pico sailing dinghy. We work in groups to label parts of the boat and then we take a quiz.

In the first of 6 sessions, we explore the basics of sailing as we reboot ready for the new season. In this session, we explore how sailing boats move and more importantly stop. In the group exercise, we try coming alongside a boat and moving backward to a buoy. Next week, we're taking boats to bits.

The 24hr Sailing Challenge, 3 sailors attempt to sail for 24 hours without sleep in order to raise money for new training facilities.

15 boats turned up at Yeadon Sailing Club for the Heron and Mirror Open, one Mirror made it out on the water in the light winds. Thank you to the members and visitors who made it.
