I have found this 2 cabin version of the 2005-2007 model on a site called Scanboat. The 05-07 model is a level newer than the 2004 series, some of the things there is upgraded is the standing headroom. The Bavaria 37 is a popular boat and this 2001 model is well build with solid wood interior and a bulb lead keel. The boat model is made in a 2 and 3 cabin version and is produced from 2000 to 2002. I found the boat in the local "Craigslist" to the price of 71800 USD (485000 DKR) The seller was willing to sell it for 63000 USD in a fast deal. (425000 DKR) The boat had a lot of equipment and some of it was brand new. My job at the paperbag factory has come to an end so I think it's a good time to buy a new boat. The boats I'm looking for is in the price range 72000 - 115000 US Dollars and the reason for that is to keep costs down regarding insurance and ownership. Would also be interesting to get a boat that needs some repairs done, regarding rudder, engine and the usual leaks. The bottom must also be done and this time I'll like to apply coppercoat.

In this video I empty my watertank and the water system to make the boat ready for vinter. A part people often forget is to empty the waterheater and many waterheaters then crack due to frost. When the system is empty the waterpump will make airpressure you can use for forcing out the remaining water.

On facebook I saw a post regarding one who wanted to sell a Bavaria 39. The boat was well equipped with everything I needed and to the right price, so I made an appointment to see the boat the upcomming weekend. The boat was located in the south part of Denmark at a island called Lolland. A very nice and spacious boat with two bathrooms and a lot of standing headroom all over the boat. The engine was a Volvo Penta D2-40 which is the medium size you can get for this boat model. Overall I liked the boat a lot but something I realized was it would not be an easy job to remove the mast every year. The boat was bought from new by a rich russian man and then sold in Porez Croatia to a Danish couple in 2016. It is time to find my new boat and as always I'm starting to look at the bottom regarding price and year. My impression of this boat is that it is very well made inside and out, also very impressive that every window is without any crazing, I only spotted a bit on some of the top hatches. The Volvo Penta MD22 (59HP) engine starts right up and also sounds nice. The owner was ready to make a deal and asked me to make an offer but unfortunately this boat don't have all the things I'm looking for. Eg. it has no Webasto heater, no bimini or cockpit tent, no steering pedestal cover, no bow thruster, no furling mainsail, and I'm also thinking the bathrooms was to small regarding the possibility to take a shower. In 2019 Jan and Josefine bought a 28 foot sailboat and wanted to sail around the world. They soon realized the boat was to small to do such a trip in a comfortable way so they sold the 28 foot boat and bought a Bavaria 50 Holiday in 2020. They since then lived on board and prepared for the trip with departure in 2022. The boat is upgraded with new rig, sails, a dinghy, motor, and a lot more to ensure a flawless trip. In 1995 I bought my first boat and since then I have upgraded in size and quality. What is driving me is simply a dream from when I was a 6 yo kid who watched a movie with a paradise island and a beautiful girl.

My Bavaria 32 was sold in August 2021 and since then I have worked at my job at the paperbag factory to get the money needed for a bigger boat. To get the money for the boat I have transferred a amount of money from my salary account to a savings account every month, and at the same time kept my expenses down to save as many money as possible. As it looks right now it is possible to buy a boat in the spring/summer of 2022. My biggest problem is to find the right one with shallow draft, bow thruster, furling main, heat and so on. I see many good offers but the problem is the boats is in the 44-47 foot range which is too big for my waterspot and to big in general regarding maintenance and ownership in the long run.

The boat was launced and the new owners was helping me to mount the mast. The next day we mounted the sails and vent out for a quick sail, everything was great and the deal was then made. The money got tranfered to my bank account and the new owners was then sailing their new boat home to a city called Grenaa. So now I just need to collect some more money to buy a bigger boat who has a price around the double of Kito's price.

The new owners has almost bought the boat so it must be antifouled and launched in a very short time. Also the whole boat must be emptied of my private things. I got a few days with good weather so it is possible to paint the bottom in sunny and almost windless weather. The launch day was however a pretty windy day, but everything went well despite strong winds.

The sales preparement continues and got a call from the buyers and they tell me they has sold their old boat so they have all the money to buy my Bavaria 32. Almost a unreal feeling, but again necessary if I want to upgrade my boat to a bigger one. Another question is whether the new boat can stand on my old boatstand or I need to get a new one.

It seems like there is missing a foam ring at the power/gear box so I mount a new one. The time is limited due to my new job at the paperbag factory, but over some weeks I have got polished and waxed the hull with the products from Renskib. The result is amazing and I then proceed to the top of the boat. But then by accident I made a comment on the Danish Bavaria forum on Facebook regarding maybe selling my boat in the future. Of course a women saw that comment and contacted me asap, she searched for at boat just like mine and wanted to see it the upcoming weekend. The result is now I have a buyer for my boat in the late summer or fall. Not a pleasant feeling to sell the boat but necessary if I want to buy a bigger one. The deal is not done yet but I'm pretty sure they will buy my boat. If my boat get's sold it is possible to buy a new one in the fall 2021 or maybe in the summer of 2022. Still thinking on a boat in the 38-40 foot area and maybe one there is under 10 years old.

It's time to polish the boat and this year I have bought a new Makita 9237CB polishing machine on a sale. The process is : 1 - wash the surface with Renskib Gel Coat Cleaner R-110 2 - wet the surface with a water spray bottle 3 - apply Renskib Liquid Rubbing Compound R-120 with a sponge 4 - polish the surface with a lambswool polishing disc 5 - wipe the surface with a microfiber cloth

The Renskib product R-110 Gel Coat Cleaner should easily clean the non-skid on a Bavaria boat, so let's try it out. One of the first things I do this year is to change out my old crusty thru hull on the stern of the boat, the old thru hull is known to fail due to the weak plastic quality. Everything is frozen and the inlet is also covered with thick ice, maybe a cold part of the year but ideal time to make a plan regarding how to get a bigger boat and what to do to make it happen. Everything starts with a dream so why not visualize how my next boat could look like.
