Nice, easy day of sailing a Hobie Adventure Island. Wind is good enough to keep me happy.

A short video showing how I cook on my West Wight Potter 15. It's a little like backpacking and a little like cooking in the back seat of a car.

Had a nice weekend on Lake Somerville. There were 10 sailboats there. This video is about one of them.

The last time I sailed Offatts was in the 70s with a buddy named Harold. Now I've sailed it again with his son John. We met another sailor on the water there, Al, who built the beautiful boat he was sailing. It was a beautiful day with a consistent breeze from the gulf that you just don't get on a lake. And thanks to Mary (John's mom) for the great dinner that evening. I'm feeling pretty smug and spoiled right now.

Met with a group of sailors who sail micro cruisers. The air was cool Saturday morning . We had a very nice breeze. The wind speed and direction were perfect to make Dim Sum, my boat, love it. She was sailing with a bone in her teeth. (Look it up, landlubbers.) As the day went on the wind slowed. Then the wind got a little iffy. Then the wind went away. The wind is Neptune's answer to "Murphy's Law". At any rate, the wind went away by the end of the day. We motored back.

I use a Swedish army surplus alcohol stove. It nests together to about the size of a GI canteen. I rigged a gimbals attachment for it so it won't spill the soup if I move to the other side of the boat. The gimbals only work for port and starboard motion. If the boat is pitching for and aft I won't be cooking anyway. By the way, the pan/stove really is oval shaped. That's not a "squeezed" or distorted image.

This is how I launch my WWP 15 by myself. Others may have better ways.
