45 knots and beyond? Challenge accepted. The Boat Show’s Bacci Del Buono puts the new Saxdor 460 GTC to the test, powered by the maximum available 1,275 hp from Mercury. The goal was simple: reach the shipyard’s claimed top speed — and then try to beat it. Even as the sea started getting rougher, the Saxdor 460 GTC quickly reached 42 knots. Then, with the props lifted slightly to let the hull breathe, it was time to push harder. At 6,200 rpm and around 400 litres per hour of total fuel consumption, the result went well beyond expectations: almost 51 knots. Now that’s performance.
