What is Raiding? At our events, which span four days of sailing, each day's races (or non-competitive group sailing, depending on which boat you're on) are divided between our smaller craft and larger yachts. Routes are set by Matt and most participants are lined up for the starting sequence! Cream tea or a picnic moored up in a cove, the days vary depending on where we sail and the weather of course. Evenings are spent unwinding by the water with a cold drink, followed by a delicious meal and the day's prize-giving, always full of good humour. Some of the hardier sailors stay aboard their Swallow, while others opt for a more luxurious stay in nearby accommodations. Unlike traditional racing, raiding is all about camaraderie, strategy, and skill—without the use of engines. It’s just wind, water, and teamwork! Join the adventure and experience the best of sail-and-oar cruising, join the waiting list to hear about our next raid. 🌊 Sign up + learn more about our events: https://swallowyachts.com/events/ ⛵ Discover the Swallow Yachts Association: https://swallowyachts.com/the-association/
Join us for an entertaining and heartfelt interview with Rodney Style, the charismatic skipper, and George, his ever-cheerful crew member, aboard Psalter, their stunning wooden BayRaider 20. Rodney shares his love for the mystery of sailing, while George jokes about being the obedient (but not always perfect!) crew member. Together, they navigate the seas and life with humour and camaraderie, embodying the spirit of true seamanship. As they banter and poke fun at each other, it’s clear that this duo is more than just a winning team—they’re a joy to watch. Rodney’s passion for the art of sailing and George’s laughter about their adventures (and occasional mishaps) highlight the unique bond they share. Hear their take on the Swallow Yachts Raid, which Rodney describes as a gathering of kindred spirits. This delightful interview is a must-watch for anyone who loves sailing, camaraderie, and a good laugh. Sailing our BayCruiser 21 with the spinnaker up for the sea trials in Kiel. This was for The European Yacht of The Year Awards. Our boat is the only UK built yacht nominated for 2025 award, fingers crossed!
BayCruiser 21 The smallest boat among the nominees is also the most versatile: with the ballast centreboard and rudder raised, the British boat with its cuddly retro look is just 25 centimetres deep and can therefore be slipped in shallow shore areas. Thanks to the carbon rig with Dyneema shrouds, setting the mast is also easy. If the 400 litre water ballast tank remains empty, the BayCruiser has a very good power-to-weight ratio (sail carrying capacity 5.2). Hull length: 6.01 m; overall length: 6.01 m; waterline length: 5.67 m; width: 2.18 m; draught: 0.25-1.50 m; weight/with water ballast: 0.6/1.0 t; sail area: 19.0 m2; STZ/m. Water ballast: 5.2/4.4; Price: 39,210 euros.

Matt has squeezed every inch of space from this boat to create a surprisingly spacious cabin whilst retaining elegance and comfort. Features include: Custom oak fittings, stainless steel compression post, durable cushions which act as a back rest when upright or extend the V-berth when lowered, ample space for storage along port and starboard spaces below lockers, a lowered footwell area to keep wet feet from your bedding and to add extra room when seated. The key to the BayCruiser 21 is that she's kept simple, her well thought out design has eliminated the need for clutter or excess parts.
"My only concern is the BC21 is so stunning and pretty to look at that we will constantly be asked about the boat" - the first BC21 owner, Richard Tooby.
We wanted to test the launch + recovery of the BayCruiser 21 with a small car, this Fiat Punto had no problem at all!
