Sunday was an awesome day full of sailing and boat projects! Started the day by checking the impeller to make sure it was ok and in good shape. With the guidance of both my dad and Rich I was able to get it taken apart and put back together fairly easily. For me, this was a great accomplishment given I'm not the most mechanically sound person. Oh, and the impeller was in good shape. Next we backed the boat out and took her over to the fuel and pump out dock to top off the fuel as well as do a pump out. Let me just say, pump outs are pretty gross. I'll just leave it at that lol. After that adventure, it was time to hit the open water and do some sailing. Once out on the water, Rich went full sailing instructor and school was in session. Along with our usual sailing exercises (tacking, keeping a straight course, not letting the sails luff, etc.) Rich taught me how to reef both the main sail and jib. We were actually having good strong puffs of wind so the reefing experiences came in handy. All in all it was once again a great day out on the boat. A lot of fun and learning as usual. Anytime I'm able to get the boat and sail it's a great day. We were out on the water sailing for about 5 hours I believe. Big thank you to both my Dad and Rich for all their help and knowledge. Over the last year and a half they've taught me so much.

A Little TLC Boat Project! Spent Sunday down at the boat with my grandparents, Pop and Granny, it was their first time down on the boat. They really liked it and it was great spending the day with them. Granny helped out by giving the inside of the boat a good wipe down and Pop explained and taught me the art of treating teak wood. Prior to treating the teak hand rails they were gray and looked awful (scroll through the pics and you'll see). But after some sanding and three coats of teak oil they're looking almost brand new! We also tackled the seat behind the steering wheel. I'll post the video of the whole process later today. All in all, it was a very successful day! I got to spend some time with my grandparents as well as a knock out a much needed boat project. Very fun day! Thanks Pop and Granny for helping out! Glad y'all enjoyed the boat!

First day out on the water in 2022! Not much wind so we did mostly motor sailing but it still nice to just be back out on the water. Also see how a sailboat handles a barge wake. Check it out!

Happy Dad meets Happy Does! ?? This tasting has been a long time coming! Happy Dad's were first released in California back in June of 2021. Slowly but surely they've become available state by state. For Christmas I got an awesome Margarita gift set that came with sweet margarita glasses and these things called margarita bombs. Was a little skeptical but given what today is, I figured I'd experiment. Check out the video to see how it went! P.s. skip to 2:40 for a good laugh!

Fun lake sail with my mom. It was her first time sailing and my first time in full control of the boat. The weather honestly couldn't have been better, great wind and blue skies! All in all, it was another great experience to gain more knowledge and sailing skills. Hope you enjoy!

This past Thursday September 16th through Sunday September 19th me and the fam (brother his fiancé, sister her husband and daughter, and my mom) took a long weekend vacation to beautiful Key West, Florida. Boats are great but they come with work. Took the weekend to clean and scrub the deck of my newly purchased 1989 Hunter 28 Sailboat. I used Starbrite deck cleaner.

Over the last year I became very fascinated by sailboats and the live aboard lifestyle. It's a simplistic yet hard work lifestyle that offers adventure and endless possibilities. Cooking with Conner is back!!! ?????? Carnitas Tacos! First time making these and wow they turned out amazing! - Pork Tenderloin - Chipotle's in adobo sauce - Red Onion - Cilantro - Limes for lime juice - Orange Juice - Corn Tortillas or Flour if you prefer flour - Spices of your choice (I used black pepper, garlic powder, oregano, onion powder, chili powder, and Meat Church Holy Cow) Very simple and easy to cook.
