Welcome to the Sailing Channel SV-True-Love. This is a sailing channel and not a travel channel. I want to share my love and knowledge of sailing, basic seamanship, docking, preventative maintenance, safety, new and used boat reviews, and years of great stories. I took my first sailing lesson in Cape Cod Massachusetts, in 1971 at the age of 6 and knew immediately that I would be doing this for the rest of my life. I learned to sail from a man who had lost his left arm in the Korean war. He would pull in the sheets with his right hand and trap it with what remained of his left arm. Even then, I understood how impressive he was. The first boat I sailed on, which I highly recommend to any new sailor, was a Lightning. It's the perfect boat on which to learn the sport of sailing. For me sailing isn't about a destination but rather a journey. I sail for the love and passion of sailing and want to get others involved in the sport, that has brought me so much joy throughout my life.
