Liveaboard trip with the Whale Sharks and unexplored reefs of Cenderawasih Bay, West Papua, Indonesia. It's the largest National Park in Indonesia, but remote and not easy to get there. It worth the trip. Not touristic, not developed, you won't find a souvenir shop in the National Park (yet). Interesting aquatic life with so many endemics and other species which are rarely seen by recreational divers out of the bay. Untouched and pristine coral reefs. The unique opportunity of diving and swimming with the largest fish known on our oceans, the Whale Sharks. The Whale Sharks in Cenderawasih Bay are protected and developed a different behavior with the fisherman for over decades, at least 50 years. Due this different behavior staying around at the fishing platforms, scientists could collect more data and even deploy satellite tags to better understand their behavior. This was my last trip of 2022 season in Cenderawasih Bay and it was the cherry on the top! Amazing weather conditions, awesome group of divers and lots of Whale Sharks with good visibility! I'll be back! Filmed and edited by Simone Tomazela Music "Breath" by Ian Post
Out of the tourist track with no other boats around, remote villages, endemic and rare species of fish, unexplored dive sites and the unique opportunity to swim and dive with these majestic creatures. On this last cruise we had perfect conditions allowing us to do many exploration dives and we were all amazed with the new discoveries! Cenderawasih Bay is amazing! In this video, you can see a Whale Shark trapped in the fishing net which was quickly released by the fisherman. The Whale Sharks are protected in the area and fishing platforms are aiming the little fish (anchovies). The Whale Sharks learned to come and feed on the platforms and sometimes they get trapped but quickly released. The fishermen like having those giants around as they bring them good luck.
After 3 years we are back to Cenderawasih Bay, West Papua, Indonesia. 10 days in the largest National Park in Indonesia. Remote and unexplored, no other boats around. Beautiful villages. Scuba diving in pristine and untouched coral reefs, having the opportunity to see so many unique endemics and rare species. The cherry on the top was definitely the Whale Sharks encounter! All footages of this video were taken on a single dive at Larry's Heaven, located in Triton Bay, West Papua, Indonesia. Larry's Heaven is one of the most popular dive sites in Triton Bay. We were very excited about this dive and as we were just approaching the dive site, a huge pod of dolphins came to welcome us! We knew from that moment it was going to be an epic dive! Perfect conditions, smooth currents, just enough to make all the colorful soft and tubastreas corals open. A sunny day and clear visibility added warm tones to the color palette. Schooling of Fusiliers, Pinjalos, Snappers, colorful Anthias were there to complete the dreamy scenery. The beautiful Blue Ring Angelfish was the cherry on the top! Here is a 4 minute video of a dive that we didn't want to end. It was March 12th 2020 and we were at the end of a 12 days dive trip to remote locations with no internet and oblivious of the chaotic world out of our dreamy bubble. The dive site was named after Larry Smith, a legend who I hadn't had the opportunity to meet personally but definitely influenced my (and many others) way of diving. He was a pioneer diving in many places in Indonesia and well known for his enthusiasm about the underwater world and charismatic personality. Through my journey in Indonesia I have heard so many stories about this man and I wished I had met him. Diving at Larry's Heaven in such perfect conditions, I finally felt like meeting him ?? Larry passed away in 2007, in West Papua. Hope you can enjoy this video as much I enjoyed the dive ? Triton Bay, March 12th 2020. With Dewi Nusantara and Dream Weaver Travel.
Here is Komodo National Park after few months break from divers and tourists. This is October 2020 and the Komodo National Park has just opened for domestic tourism and we couldn't wait any longer to check this amazing iconic paradise! Abundance and diversity of life, lot of shark action, schooling fish and mantas galore. To cope with so much adrenaline underwater, yoga on the deck of a beautiful liveaboard with a kind and friendly crew. On land, hiking to iconic view point at Padar Island and visiting the ones who named this land, the Earth's largest living lizard - the Komodo Dragon! It was an EPIC trip! If you are diving in Indonesia, this is the time to visit Komodo. It's a lifetime opportunity to visit such a popular place without the crowd. ?It's Mola-Mola season in Nusa Penida, Bali? At the moment, Ago 2020, Bali is open for domestic tourism and Mola-Molas, the gigantic fish also called Sunfish or Moonfish. If you are in Indonesia, it's definitely the best opportunity to dive the very popular sites like Crystal Bay & Manta Point in Nusa Penida with very few boats or NONE ??? ? Following new COVID-19 protocols (maintaining social distance, wearing face masks in between, dives, washing your hands, using hand sanitiser, disinfecting personal gear and not spitting in your mask) we can minimise the risk of infection. Let's help & support the tourism in BALI ? All businesses & people in Bali have been terribly affected and really needs your help ? Thanks so much to AquaMarine Diving - Bali for this opportunity and thumbs up for your effort and dedication applying the new protocols.

??Ocean Inspiration Part 2?? This video particularly brings me a mix of feelings... It was an amazing trip, we were very lucky with good weather, clear visibility and all sorts of things happening on every single day... Nature was surprising us with so many unexpected wildlife encounters. Definitely a trip of a lifetime! As usual on such remote locations, we spent 12 days with no contact with the rest of the world. Speaking of the beginning of March 2020, it means a lot. We were submerged in our Dreamland while the rest of the world was falling apart... Times of uncertainty and losses were affecting everyone's lives on this tiny blue planet, including ours. It was hard to come back and face this new world. We don't know yet when and how it's going to end, but I'm still (as usual) very positive. In my 43 years, I went through difficult times and one important thing I've learned is that EVERYTHING passes. I'm sure this will pass and we just need time to recover. Hard times may hurt, but make us stronger! Nature is calling now and imposing us a necessary break. Mother Nature is doing her job, putting the naugthy kids in an isolated room to think about what them have done. What we (humans) have done to our planet? What are we doing? For what? Time to think about it. This video was my last trip this year and takes me back to the Dreamland. The Dreamland is REAL and remind us on every footage what a wonderful world we live in. How fortunate we are! Let's work on a better future for all of us, in harmony with Nature and all beings ?? ?Filmed & Edited by ????Simone Tomazela ??Thanks to all crew and guests onboard the beautiful ??Dewi Nusantara ?Taking Flight by Caleb Etheridge March 2020
