First time sailing in the open sea. Got an opportunity of a life time to be part of a crew on a Hunter Legend 40. A chance I could not pass up. I like to thank the captain/owner of the boat & the rest of the crew, especially Jen for helping me trying to cope with my sea sickness and making this trip as comfortable as possible. Went sailing on a Hunter 40. Got rid of my anxiety when steering & gained a bit more experience handling the genoa. Unfortunately I keep having technical problems when trying to film and editing. So the video is quite terrible, but this is all the footage I got. Hopefully I will get to do it again soon

Went to slaughter a sheep & decided to tan the sheepskin. Else the farmer just throw away the skin. I can't bear to see these beautiful skins rot. Things YouTube university did not tell you / did not emphasize enough: 1. Fleshing is a bear. By day 3, I almost quit 2. By day 2, if the fat & the flesh are still on the skin, it starts to smell to high heavens 3. This project requires a lot of perseverance 4. The farmer said, mature sheepskin should be used else the wool will come off in due time. Found my Abiet's tape that I made back in the late 80's. Can't help myself. Had to make a video featuring one of Abiet's song ("Mimpi di Parangtritis") We kayak from the Benham Falls trailhead upstream toward Sisters, then slowly floats back with the current. Quiet, peaceful and serene. A great section for kayaking.

We had some tips on how to restore the gelcoat back to life from someone who does it for a living. I thought I share his tips if you want to do it your self. We figured, as long as we have the boat on the yard, might as well go for it. One of the keel hanger bolt was missing and one sheared off.The only way to drill out the bolt is to take the whole keel down. The good thing is, while we are at the boatyard, it is a fairly easy process with the help of the crane. It is also a good chance to inspect the keel hanger condition.

Olive or vegetable oil is a safer fuel for a lamp than kerosene. It is non flammable, produce very little soot & last for a long time. Easy to make too. A safer alternative to kerosene lamp.
