From Turkey to the Caribbean, join us for an aerial tour of a few of the wonderful places we have visited over a year of travel aboard Ventus. These were shot using the DJI Phantom 3 Standard drone.

We check into Fethiye, Turkey and cruise around the Gocek area. These are some of the best cruising grounds in the world. The water is warming up and we are able to swim and enjoy the beautiful water and mountains. Sophia gets to wakeboard behind the dinghy and Alex makes friends with a donkey.

We visit the beaches, turtle river and mud baths of Dalyan Turkey. Our Dinghy is confiscated by the police! No worries, we still have a great time enjoying the area.

In the middle of our shake out cruise we are intercepted by a Turkish warship in Greek waters! We also learn some important anchoring and Mediterranean Mooring lessons. We get swindled in the Rhodos market, and begin to understand the process for navigating customs in various countries.

Join us as we visit Symi Greece. It is our first stop on our shake out tour while sailing around the world! We get our first taste of sailing and get to explore one of the finest Greek islands. We have fun having bacon for the fist time in 6 weeks and find there is no nudism allowed in the Monastery.

Ventus, a 2008 Fountaine Pajot Orana, is finishing its transformation from a coastal cruising boat to a blue water live aboard sailboat. In this episode see our adventures adding our solar panels, water maker, folding props, sturdier anchor, heat exchange elbow, dinghy cover/chaps, and depth transducer. The inspection and sea trial is also covered, along with a second haul out to replace the sail drive seals. We installed a couple luxury items such as the sailboat washing machine and TV. Even better, we had time for some hikes!

Since moving our family on-board a sailing catamaran in Turkey we start to go through some learning curves as we prepare the boat for live-aboard travel. We start by provisioning then have a renaming party and then as we prepare to export the boat and leave Turkey disaster strikes.
