In my previous video about Chiar di Luna I said I might make a video about the history of Laino Borgo, so here is a little of that history.

Fancy living in a historical national park in the mountains of Italy? Fancy living somewhere with fresh air, great local produce, friendly people? Italy has it all; ah you say, but I need to earn a living! So why not start a business? Well starting a business in a new country that's quite a challenge. Yes it is, so maybe take over an existing, thriving business, now there's a thought. If you find the idea attractive but worry about the technicalities of buying a property in Italy I can tell you that I used A&M Immobiliare in Scalea to buy my house Antonio Deidda speaks English and can lead you through everything.

Based on my own experience of buying a boat, living on it for a decade and travelling widely I recently wrote a book entitled 'How To Buy A Boat For The Liveaboard Lifestyle'. However, as with my anchoring book - 'How To Anchor Safely So You Sleep Well I also canvassed opinions from other sailors I met on my travels. Wolfgang had invested rather more money in his boat than I invested in mine and had it built to order. Even so there are lessons to be learned and things to look out for! Thanks Wolfgang. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Malcolm-Snook/e/B005SOEN10%3Fref=dbs_a_mng_rwt_scns_share

Discrete sound panels create voice reinforcement for teachers and lecturers, they can suppress noise in a business environment and they can entertain. Almost all commercial buildings can benefit.

The very first song I've ever written, words and music. My playing skills leave something to be desired and the guitar sounds very tinny through the microphone on the camera, although it's better than the mic on the laptop.

I'm doing a songwriting course online from Sheffield University through Futurelearn. #FLSong Week 1 they gave us a poem by Sheffield poet Matt Black. I abused his lyrics to set them to my idea of music. Not exactly practiced myself yet but here's the first go!

Track day laughs in a bonkers, light-weight Bentley Turbo R, running on racing tyres and wide rims, with water cooled brakes, a rear wing and other mods. A great day out with my buddy Paul Fitzpatrick.

Just for you Jared my guitar sounds like an old coke can and I sound like a strangled cat, the sound ain't in time with the picture, but at least the jokes went down well!

In 10 Years video produced for the Slideshare ten year anniversary competition. The video shows what I've been up to for the last ten years, with a little background and concludes with what I'm doing now and what I'd like to achieve in the next ten years. I hope you like it, it's pretty home made - AND I'm NOT a technical whizz kid! To help me get noticed in the Slideshare comp and get the peace campaign noticed please 'Like' the presentation at http://www.slideshare.net/sailorsnook/in-10-years-pdf

The passage from Tunisia to Sardinia became a real struggle towards the end. I got into this anchorage on the southern end of Sardinia, which protected me from the waves outside, but even in the anchorage you can hear how strong the wind is and the rain didn't only fall in England this year. Learn all about anchoring in my book How To Anchor Safely - So You Sleep Well! All my books are available on Amazon in all markets as paperbacks and e-books. Crossing from the Azores to the Isles of Scilly this August (2012) we encountered three storms. Filming during the storms wasn't practical, the worst of each was at night anyway and it was very scary in the pitch black with 50 knots plus of wind and driving rain. When the wind was at its worst I had to hand steer throughout. This video was taken after one of the storms when the waves subsided enough for the autopilot to cope whilst I filmed. We ran before the wind with just the staysail throughout the storms and for some days afterwards. Check out my books and e-books - search for Malcolm Snook on Amazon
