What’s hiding in your waterway? 🧐 Get ready to dive into discovery! In this hands-on KELP (Kids Environmental Lesson Plan) activity, students build a DIY plankton net and discover the tiny drifters that call their local waters home. Using simple supplies like a hanger, stocking, and jar, students can collect and ID plankton—microscopic organisms that are the foundation of the ocean food web. This activity is perfect for students to build observation skills, spark curiosity, and connect with the invisible life beneath the surface! We hope you—and every sea turtle—had a turtley awesome World Sea Turtle Day this past Monday! 🌎🐢 As sailors and boaters, we share the ocean with some of its oldest and most extraordinary species: sea turtles. For over 100 million years, they've navigated the same waters we now sail. Today, we honor them. As stewards of the sea, let's protect those who call it home. How we can help: - Dim lights near nesting beaches - Avoid anchoring near turtle grass beds - Support turtle conservation efforts Let's shell-ebrate sea turtles by being a part of the solution! 💚 #SeaTurtles #SeaTurtleConservation
