This year's Norfolk-Bermuda ocean training cruise brought some interesting sailing weather for the crew to deal with, and they did so with top-notch seamanship skills. Captain Frank Mummert expertly s

FINALLY! A video where we show you how Unleaded gets highway ready. Do note that there are many steps we take before these final two hours of taking down the mast and tucking away the amas. To list a few things, it's removing the trampolines and cockpit railings and stowing away the boom, daggerboard, rudder, sails and lines.

All good things come to an end and our end was in Saint John New Brunswick! We had so much fun exploring Nova Scotia, enjoying family time in New Brunswick and hauling out our home to hit the road back to Detroit. Thanks for following along on our trip!

Why not show you how we typically raise and douse our spinnaker! We've done this so many times and found that this is how it works best for us.

What an accomplishment! We can finally say we sailed from the great lakes to the Atlantic Ocean as we made it to Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. Due to some weather windows being a lot shorter than we hoped, it was a quick stay in Cape Breton, checking out Lac Bras d'Ors. Beautiful sailing!!

Just when we thought the Saint Lawrence River couldn't get more beautiful, we hit Gaspésie! Although we didn't stop along the way (due to weather windows and such) it was SO cool to see it from the water!! So beautiful. Wait till we hit Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine though...

We really enjoyed our stop in Baie-Comeau and stayed at the yacht club that was full of sailboats! Great facilities and a fun little town with a coffee shop and brewery - that's all you need in our books. We transited across the Saint Lawrence River from the North to South side in complete fog as well and arrived in Saint-Anne-des-Monts. They had a big superstore to replenish our groceries.

Saguenay River! Where mountains, wildlife and cold waters merge. This is the part we were most excited for on our trip down the St. Lawrence Seaway.

Welcome back to our trip down the Saint Lawrence River! You'll notice that the weather seemed gloomy in the past few videos - this was actually due to the forest fires that the province of Quebec faced this summer. There were many grey days between Kingston and Quebec City but thankfully the weather started peaking through beyond Quebec City!

We took a couple days making our way from Kingston to Montreal! Stopped in the famous 'Thousand Islands' and were lucky that it wasn't too busy in June. We've been told it's hard to find and anchorage or dock space in July and August!

It's been a dream to explore Toronto via sailboat and we couldn't have been luckier staying at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club! We explored the Toronto Islands and made our way through the Bay of Quinte to Kingston. Had a little race as well with a fellow trimaran. :) Next up - the Thousand Islands in Lake Ontario!

Here's to the start of our 2 month sabbatical! We motored through lake Erie, down the Welland Canal and across lake Ontario to Toronto. We were so nervous to go through the 8 locks but it ended up being a great experience without any hiccups. :)

Welcome to our HOME! We've been sailing in the Detroit area for 5 years now, mostly on Lake Saint Claire, but on the odd occasion the winds favor the beautiful river cruising sail, we'll take it! Detroit's riverfront on October 24th 2023.

Just wanted to share what it's like to sail in some particular wind conditions - first up, a wing-on-wing downwind setup! With 30 knot gusts we didn't want to have the main sail out so we opted to use our two furling headsails. Nice a steady in some pretty windy and wavy conditions!

They kill time. That's what sailors do in the winter. We present to you...'Cafe Etienne'! You know when you order a coffee, and the barista doesn't stop yelling the person's name? Well, we thought this short video should exist on the internet for no reason at all. Enjoy!
