While we can't always be exploring the stunning coastlines of the Dominican Republic, wandering through Puerto Rican rainforests, and playing with wild pigs in the Bahamas but we were excited to see what new sights awaited us on this journey home, and they did not disappoint! This week we are absolutely freezing. We have to go into town for provisions and needless to say... it's cold. We don't have a car on the sailboat though, so we must take the ding. Nothing like some freezing spray to really get the blood pumping! Once we leave, we have an EPIC sail. Perfect conditions. Then the winds pick up, and it's even better! Watch the adventure unfold! Sailing isn't always sunshine and rainbows. Often it is boat repairs and breakdowns. This week, you'll see it ain't always easy. We make it hundreds of miles into our journey to have a huge road block thrown in our way, BUT watch until the end, the beauty makes it ALL worth it. A lot was happening at this time in our lives (but not too much on the boat), so footage was few and far between. Back Surgery recovery is no joke, but luckily not too much happened between leaving Mass and getting to Florida other than a bunch of motor sailing and a trip to the ER in South Carolina because George was hurting so much. BUT we see that perfect blue Bahama water again for the first time in what seems like forever, and it makes it all worth the trip! The best part about editing videos from the past is that it really puts into perspective how far we've come. Let us take you back to 1.5 years ago. We had never sailed the Sarah G. We had never taken her on a voyage. The roof leaked... a ton. We have come SO FAR. We had no idea what a wild ride the next year was going to be. Sailing well over 5,000 miles in under 6 months would have seemed unfeasible. That is the funny thing that happens when you live in your flow. Things that seemed impossible suddenly happen. We are going to spend the next few videos catching up on all that has happened the past year or so. Then we will be back to up-to-date and more daily adventures! Can't wait to keep sharing this wild ride, and so grateful that you all have been loving it too. A lot has happened in the last almost 2 years. It is hard to put into words how much work this has been. It's amazing and hard. Exhausting and rewarding. Horrible and wonderful ? The yin and yang of life. While we haven't updated since first getting Sarah G, we have been taking footage here and there when possible! Fixing this boat, sailing and homeschooling the kids takes a lot of time, but we finally have been able to sit down and start going through the footage of this process, and we cannot wait to show it to you all. Thank you to everyone who has been asking us about our videos- knowing there are so many people out there that want to see our journey and have been there to support this wild dream is the only reason we kept picking up the camera. It's been a long ride these past 2 years and it is only continuing! In fact, the journey is just starting, and we don't think you will be let down.
