In this episode, our sailing journey takes a few unexpected turns-some joyful, some tough. Matt heads north to help friends move their boat from Georgia to North Carolina. But first some prep to get the boat ready to move to a marina. Unfortunately, we make a devastating discovery: our cutlass bearing is completely ruined, throwing a wrench into our plans. Thankfully Kim's parents come for a visit, which means Aria and Kim get to stay at their Airbnb. Aria thrives in land life at our Airbnb-enjoying the pool, biking and have some space to run around. When Matt returns, we take a much-needed break for some SeaWorld fun-roller coasters, marine life, and smiles all around. There is even more excitement when Matt's dad and his fiancée visit us. We also gather with friends and family to celebrate US Thanksgiving, grateful for the highs and grounded by the lows. Join us for a week full of heartwarming reunions, off-boat adventures, and the simple joys of being together, wherever we are. A Wild Week Afloat! Hurricanes, Homeschool & a Zoo Day | Sailing Adventures This week was packed with everything from wild weather to wild animals! We kick things off with a fun-filled day at Brevard Zoo, where we trade boat life for wildlife and enjoy some much-needed off-the-water fun. But just as we're soaking in the smiles, Hurricane Helene brushes by, reminding us that Mother Nature's always in charge. Back on the boat, we mix in some homeschool time, a little personal grooming (because boat life doesn't mean skipping self-care!), and then get spoiled with a delicious dinner from our amazing friends. But the weather drama isn't done-Hurricane Milton is hot on Helene's heels. We quickly pick up anchor and make a run for safety, finding shelter on a mooring ball in Vero Beach, where we ride out the storm. With the chaos behind us, we take a breath and decompress with a relaxing beach day and another great dinner out, soaking in the calm after the storm. Come along for the ups, downs, and all the beautiful moments in between. Don't forget to like, subscribe, and hit that bell so you never miss an update from our floating family life! We planned to head north-but reality hit hard. With our cruising budget stretched thin, we've decided to stay in Florida a bit longer. In this episode, we tackle our never-ending boat to-do list: cleaning the bottom (again), fixing the dinghy motor, and replacing our propane solenoid. It's not all work though-we sneak in a fun day sail to remind ourselves why we do this in the first place. This week on the channel, we're extra excited because our good friends from Fresh2Salty have joined us in the anchorage! ? That means more adventures, more laughs, and even more memories made out on the water. Of course, Mother Nature had her own plans - we deal with even more rainstorms ??, but we're staying positive: the rain means full water tanks and a perfect chance to catch up on some much-needed laundry! ?? On the flip side, with our generator officially dead, we've had to get creative - using the motor to charge our batteries and keep everything running. ?? In this episode, we sail off anchor from the stunning Serenity Island and make our way toward the Melbourne area-an ideal spot for restocking and regrouping. We drop anchor in a calm patch of water near Melbourne, where we take the opportunity to get much-needed supplies and provisions, including some brand new water jugs to make hauling water a bit easier (finally!) and a full gas top-up. But cruising life isn't always smooth sailing. We hit a frustrating snag when our relatively new generator starts acting up-never fun when you rely on it for power on the hook. To top it off, we experience the outer effects of a hurricane passing through Florida. It's a first for us, and the strong winds and squalls definitely remind us of Mother Nature's power. Join us as we navigate the highs and lows of liveaboard life-anchoring, provisioning, troubleshooting, and weathering the storm (literally). ? We're still in Vero Beach, hanging onto our mooring ball, but this week, the heat and those relentless no-see-ums had us going a little stir-crazy! We kicked things off with some much-needed shopping-stocking up on groceries and making a stop at West Marine for some boat essentials. Of course, we also took care of the basics, filling up our boat with water and diesel. But after a few too many bites and sleepless, sweaty nights, we made the call to leave the mooring field and drop anchor somewhere a little breezier-farther from the mangroves and hopefully, the no-see-um invasion. Meanwhile, Aria found the perfect way to beat the heat, creating her own little "spa" right on the boat. After an incredible micro-season sailing in the Bahamas, it was time to head back to the U.S.! We anchored just off West End to stage for an early morning departure, but it turned out to be a rough night. The anchorage was *super* rolly, and we were more than happy to lift anchor and get underway. Luckily, the crossing back to the U.S. was smooth sailing with calm seas and fair winds. Spotting land was a welcome sight, but it felt like it took forever to actually get there! Once we arrived, we were treated to a delicious dinner with friends-exactly what we needed after a long day on the water. The next day was all business. We ran into an issue getting a new cruising permit, which meant a trip to see the officials. Not exactly the welcome back we'd hoped for, but part of the adventure nonetheless! We got to enjoy some of that Florida sun and beautiful beach time too! Join us on our latest sailing adventure as we journey from Fox Town to Allens Pensacola! What started as a smooth sail quickly turned into a challenge when we encountered a squall that put our gear to the test. The mainsail track took a hit, leaving us scratching our heads about how to repair it. Despite the setback, we embraced the unexpected and made the most of our time at Allens Pensacola. From enjoying the stunning beach to connecting with the friendly folks in the anchorage, this stop turned into a memorable experience. Watch as we navigate through the highs and lows of life on the water and share a glimpse of what makes this lifestyle so rewarding, even when things don't go as planned.
