In this episode, we take you back to the start of our Baja journey-six months after we left the marina and dove headfirst into life aboard our 1989 Catalina 36, Tengai. Why Am I Stranded in the Middle of the Ocean? Our Crazy Sailing Journey Begins! ?? Ever wondered what it feels like to be floating powerless in the middle of the ocean? Join us in this first long-form episode as we rewind and dive into the whirlwind adventure that led us here. Six months ago, I stumbled upon the exact same 1989 36ft sailboat my parents had owned years ago. From casually browsing a brokerage site to road-tripping across Mexico with my parents, the journey to owning this boat was nothing short of serendipitous! Our Story Unfolds: Finding Our Boat: A chance conversation with my mom led to discovering our family's old Catalina sailboat for sale. Despite not planning to buy a boat for another year, the stars aligned, and I couldn't resist this massive coincidence. Moving Onboard: Transitioning to boat life was fast-paced. From saying bittersweet goodbyes to friends and packing our lives into boxes, to booking a one-way ticket to La Cruz, the journey was filled with emotions and excitement.
