A short sail with big lessons learned 🌊 With 25 knots of wind blowing, this day aboard Seakat quickly turned into a hands-on lesson in sail handling, boat control, and staying calm when things don’t go exactly to plan. Yes… we accidentally backed the headsail 😅 — but that’s all part of learning the ropes. Strong winds, real mistakes, and real takeaways are what make sailing such a powerful teacher. We found a gorgeous mooring in Waldringfield — the perfect place to drop the hook, take a breath, and enjoy the calm after a windy sail. We hopped in the tender and headed ashore for dinner at the Maybush Inn, a classic riverside pub and the ideal way to end the day. In this video, we take you along for a high-wind sail, sharing what went right, what went wrong, and what we learned along the way — followed by one of those simple sailing moments that make it all worthwhile. ⚓ Expect: • Sailing in 25-knot winds • Real-world sail handling mistakes (and fixes) • Lessons learned under pressure • Finding a beautiful mooring spot • Tendering ashore for a well-earned pub dinner • Honest sailing experiences — no sugarcoating • Life aboard Seakat If you’re into sailing vlogs, seamanship lessons, learning to sail, or boat life, make sure to like, subscribe, and sail along with us as we keep learning every time we leave the dock. #SuffolkSailing #RiverDeben #EastCoastSailing #UKSailing #BoatLifeUK
Welcome back to Sailing Seakat! This is Part 2 of our biggest trip yet – our adventure to the Solent and the long journey home. Before attempting our monster passage back, we spent a couple of incredible days in Cowes, Isle of Wight – easily our favourite place we’ve visited so far. From the marina atmosphere to the sailing culture, Cowes completely won us over. We also squeezed in a day out at the historic dockyard in Portsmouth, exploring ships and maritime history… all while it absolutely poured with rain. Not the weather we hoped for, but definitely memorable & Prim LOVED IT! Then came the big challenge: We planned a massive 28-hour straight sail home with no stops. But the sea had other plans… In this episode we push Seakat harder than ever before, riding tides, dodging traffic, and fighting fatigue as we attempt our longest passage yet. Eventually conditions change and we’re forced to make an unplanned stop in Dover. Join us for: ⛵ Our longest single-leg attempt ever 🌧 A soggy but fascinating Portsmouth history day 🏝 Chilled Cowes moments ⚓ The exact moment we realise we can’t continue 🌌 Night sailing & honest decision-making 🌅 Beautiful sailing mixed with real challenges If you enjoy real, unscripted cruising life as a family, hit LIKE, subscribe, and ring the bell so you don’t miss Part 3! #SailingSeakat #Sailing #SailingLifestyle #Solent #Cowes #Portsmouth #Dover #CruisingLife
