Sailing ORIZON - Segeln im Mittelmeer... Unsere Reise um den Peloponnes geht weiter, wobei wir das Campen immer mehr für uns entdecken. Mit unserem "Knut" kommen wir auch an viele Orte die wir bereits mit dem Segelboot besucht haben. Über den mittleren Finger des Peloponnes, der wildromantischen Halbinsel Mani fahren wir anschließend die Westküste, mit ihren kilometer langen Sandstränden entlang, bis sich schließlich bei Korfos der Kreis der Umrundung des Peleponnes schließt. Dort ziehen wir unser Fazit: Segeln vs. Campen. Für dort haben wir einen tollen Tipp bekommen und werden nicht enttäuscht. Sailing ORIZON - Segeln im Mittelmeer... Nach der schönen Ormos Zogeria möchten wir gern noch mehr von Insel Spetses sehen und ankern in einer hübschen Bucht an der Ostseite. Von dort - ganz praktisch - ist es in das Örtchen Spetses nur ein Katzensprung zu laufen. Als nächstes segeln wir nach Ermioni, das sympathische Örtchen gefällt und und wir bleiben dort einige Zeit. Schon am nächsten Tag ziehen wir wieder gen Süden und wettern eine Starkwindphase in Porto Cheli ab. Sailing ORIZON - Segeln im Mittelmeer... Andi hat sich in Porto Cheli auf die Suche nach Franks Yachtstation gemacht und diese auch gefunden. Ein kurzes Gespräch mit Christian gibt Aufschluss darüber welchen Service die Yachtstation noch anbietet. Anschließend legen wir ab und segeln bei tollen Wind nach Kilada, dort schauen wir uns auch gleich die große Franchthi Cave an, die sich im Hang gegenüber befindet. Dann, nachdem das erste Gewitter vorbeigezogen ist geht es nach Vivari, eine große geschützte Bucht die von Felsen gesäumt wird. Das Örtchen Vivari ist angenehm ursprünglich und hat viele nette Tavernen direkt am Ufer. Unser gemütlicher Abend in einer dieser Tavernen wird abrupt beendet als sich ein Gewitter in der Ferne bei uns mit plötzlichen Starkwind bemerkbar macht und wir schnell mit dem Dingi, gegen Wind und Welle, zurück ans Schiff müssen um mehr Kette zu geben und zu schauen, ob der Anker hält. Am nächsten Tag schiffern wir Richtung Norden nach Nafplio und machen dort im großen Hafenbecken fest. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Andi searched for Frank's yacht station in Porto Cheli and found it. A short conversation with Christian provides information about the other services the yacht station offers. Then we cast off and sail to Kilada in great winds, where we also have a look at the large Franchthi Cave, which is located on the opposite slope. Then, after the first thunderstorm has passed, we head to Vivari, a large sheltered bay lined with rocks. The village of Vivari is pleasantly original and has many nice taverns right on the shore. Our cozy evening in one of these taverns comes to an abrupt end when a distant thunderstorm makes itself felt with sudden strong winds and we quickly have to return to the ship with the dinghy, against wind and waves, to give more chain and see if the anchor holds. The next day we sail north to Nafplio and moor there in the large harbor basin. Sailing ORIZON - Segeln im Mittelmeer... In Porto Cheli angekommen versorgen wir uns erst mal mit frischen Lebensmitteln, bringen Wäsche in die Laundry und gucken uns das Städtchen ein bisschen an. Die große Bucht gefällt uns gut, weil sie sehr geschützt ist und alles mögliche zum Versorgen bietet. Gleich um die Ecke befindet sich die hübschen Bucht Khersonisos Ermionis in der wir herrlich baden und schnorcheln können. Aber dann streikt wieder eine unserer Bordtoiletten und der verstopfte Ablauf muss nun doch erneuert werden. Also wieder nach Porto Cheli, neuen Schlauch besorgen und mal wieder eine Toiliette reparieren... +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Arriving in Porto Cheli, we first get fresh groceries, take laundry to the laundry and have a look at the little town. Sailing ORIZON - Segeln im Mittelmeer... Nachdem wir den zweiten Finger, das Kap Tenaro, vom Peloponnes umrundet haben steuern wir den dritten Finger, das Kap Malea an. Auf dem Weg dorthin kommen wir an der Insel Elafonisos vorbei die zwei herrliche Buchten hat, die wir uns mit der Drohne von oben anschauen. Anschließend umrunden wir das berüchtigte Kap Malea und seglen bis zur nächsten guten Ankermöglichkeit nach Monemvassia. Wir machen mal wieder etwas Sightseeing und sind sehr beeindruckt von der antiken Stadt und der tollen Aussicht. In der nächsten Ankerbucht bei Kiparissi werden wir mitten in der Nacht von starken Fallböen überrascht was für ein paar ungemütliche Stunden sorgt. Nun möchten wir mal wieder ein ein rundum geschützte Bucht und steuern Porto Cheli an. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ After circumnavigating the second finger, Cape Tenaro, from the Peloponnese, we head for the third finger, Cape Malea. On the way there we pass the island of Elafonisos and the two beautiful bays that we look at from above with the drone. We then circumnavigate the infamous Cape Malea and sail to Monemvasia, the nearest good anchorage. We do some sightseeing again and are very impressed by the ancient city and the great view. In the next bay at Kiparissi, we are surprised by strong gusts of wind in the middle of the night, which makes for a few uncomfortable hours. Sailing ORIZON - Segeln im Mittelmeer... Wir lassen die schöne Navarino Bucht bei Pylos hinter uns und schiffern wenige Seemeilen weiter nach Methoni. Dort schauen wir uns gleich die sehenswerte Wasserburg an, für die der Ort bekannt ist und finden Methoni auch sonst sehr einladend. Hinter der Mole liegen wir gut geschützt und möchten den angekündigten Starkwind aus Nordost abwettern. Vor dem bleiben wir in Methoni zu unserer Erleichterung verschont und so geht es am selben Tag noch weiter nach Finikounda. In dem kleinen Örtchen treffen wir Jörg und Ute wieder und haben die Möglichkeit Wäsche zu waschen, was wegen einem Missgeschick von Andi unbedingt sein muss. Die nächste Destination ist Koroni, auch ein Ort, der mit Burg und altem Kloster aufwarten kann. Nun kommt wieder ein größerer Schlag zum nächsten Finger vom Peloponnes und wir müssen um das Kap Tenaro herum um in die geschützte Bucht Porto Kagio zu gelangen. Am Kap brist der Wind heftig auf und mit starken Gegenwind durch Fallböen kommen wir in der beeindruckenden Bucht Porto Kagio an... ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ We leave the beautiful Navarino Bay at Pylos behind us and sail a few nautical miles further to Methoni. There we take a look at the moated castle, which is well worth seeing, for which the place is known and find Methoni very inviting in other respects. We are well protected behind the mole and would like to weather the announced strong wind from the north-east. To our relief, we are spared in Methoni and so we continue to Finikounda on the same day. In the small village we meet Jörg and Ute again and have the opportunity to do the laundry, which is absolutely necessary because of Andi's mishap. The next destination is Koroni, also a place that boasts a castle and an old monastery. Now a bigger blow comes to the next finger of the Peloponnese and we have to go around Cape Tenaro to get into the sheltered bay of Porto Kagio. At the cape the wind blows up violently and with strong headwinds from down gusts we arrive in the impressive bay of Porto Kagio... Wie so oft hängen wir die Schleppangel aus und zu unserer Freude beißt ein Fisch an - ein schöner Thuna, der uns die nächsten Abendessen sichert. Sailing ORIZON - Segeln im Mittelmeer... Wir lassen das schöne Ithaka hinter uns und steuern Kafalonia an, genau gesagt die Hauptstadt Argostoli. Der Wind spielt uns allerdings einen Streich und so müssen wir einen ungeplanten Zwischenstopp einlegen bevor es nach Argostoli geht. Nach ein paar Tagen vor Anker im großen Hafenbecken bei Argostoli segeln wir nach Zakynthos in die Bucht Agios Nicolaos an der Nordostseite der Insel. Dann geht es zur Hauptstadt der Insel, die auch Zakynthos heißt, in den Stadthafen. Dort wird gebunkert, getankt und das Wasser wieder aufgefüllt. Nun noch ein schöner Ankerstop im Kolpos Lagana im Süden der Insel und schon ist der Peloponnes nicht mehr weit... ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ We leave beautiful Ithaca behind and head for Kafalonia, specifically the capital Argostoli. Then it goes to the capital of the island, which is also called Zakynthos, in the city port. There is bunkered, refueled and the water refilled. Weitere ruhige Ankernächte verbringen wir dann bei der sagenumwobenen Insel Ithaka - ein in Traum für jeden Segler und Urlauber. Sailing ORIZON - Segeln im Mittelmeer... Schon nach ein paar Tagen im Wasser haben wir uns wieder an das Leben an Board gewöhnt und der Segleralltag hat uns wieder. Reparaturen, ankern und versorgen mit dem Beiboot wird wieder zur Routine, ruhige aber auch unruhige Ankernächte auch. Täglich das Wetter beobachten und schauen was der Wind die nächsten Tage treibt um eine passende Bucht zu finden. Momentan ist das Wetter sehr ruhig und es hat kaum Wind - was zum ankern gut ist aber zum Segeln weniger... Ganz allein sind wir im Kanal von Lefkas unterwegs, sehr ungewöhnlich aber es ist eben noch April. Und auch bei der Insel Meganisi finden wir um diese Jahreszeit noch ein Bucht ganz für sich alleine...
