Welcome to Sailing Options adventure channel. We explore great cities, sail different seas, document what it's like owning a boat and learn from new experiences and mistakes. We bought our first boat, renovated it, then sailed to the Mediterranean sea from Dunkerque through the inland waterways of France "The Long Way DOWN". Leaving the rivers and canals, we enter the Med and "turn left" to see what we can find : Sailing Options "The Long Way EAST". Options is a great name for our boat, a Southerly 115 - Series Two, first launched in 1994. The swing keel design allows this yacht to sail fairly close to the wind with the keel down, run with the wind faster with the keel half way up and float in 1m depth of water with the keel fully retracted into the hull. She stays upright when drying out on mud flats and sand banks. The swing keel gives us more OPTIONS. "Swing yer Keel" JnS
