Messenger is for sale! We are selling it for 42.000 euro's. We have a big preference for selling it from Djibouti, where it is located now. But if not, we are willing to see with you how we can get it at the location you prefer. There is no tax to be paid if you want to sail it away from Djibouti. Only when you plan to sail the boat in Djibouti waters, you will have to pay the 33% tax. We have much more photo's, video's and information about the boat. We want to be transparent about all we know about this boat. A lot is already visible in our video's of the journey. And if you want to buy this boat we will tell you all we know. We hope to find someone who wants to enjoy the freedom and amazing adventures that come with this beautiful boat! Hermen & Marjolein

Today's vlog: we face some challenges at the end of our trip from Sudan to Djibouti. As we passed trough the Bab el Mandeb straight the wind increases significantly and a rope gets stuck in the furling system. Our engine needed an emergency repair already on the first day of the trip, and we aren't sure yet if its safe to use. And as an extra present we get headwinds as soon as we turn right, into the gulf of Tadjoura, towards Djibouti.. Yess we are doing a GIVEAWAY!! Today's vlog: We sail on the gulf of Suez, in the red sea and get our fishing line in the propellor. This happens in a gale during the night wich doesn't make it any better. We can't use the engine to anchor somewhere to solve it, and we can't reef the sails... so what do you do then? Yess we are doing a GIVEAWAY!! Win a full week on board of Messenger for 2 persons. check the details in/under DailyVlog 25 In November 2020 we arrived with our sailboat in Haifa, Israel. Today's vlog: the second leg of the Suez Canal transit. We have some struggles... We show you the marina's, information about the places, the costs and some good inside information to know before you go. Below some more information and explanations. Quotation in US for Southbound vessels $: - Canal dues: 330 (this fee is lower for northbound vessels) - Agent fees: 70 - port clearance 70 - immigration formalities 20 - quarantaine doctor 10 Total 500 US $ Extra costs: - Marina fee suez 2x 21 $ - Visa's 2x 25$ - camera transport by navy 45 $ - marina fee Ismailia 21$ (when you pay in Egyptian pound here its more) - Marina fee Suez 21 $ - Formality check suez 35 $ (just for a 3 seconds look at the passport you pay this fee :0 ) Why you shouldn't get a visa in suez channel? - you can transit the channel without - you don't need it to anchor in Egyptian waters - It creates problems when you are in a Egyptian marina later - it costs more in the end because you will need to pay 30$ later for each month that you had a visa - it's a gov. admin. fee. (sometimes referred to as cruising permit which is not the correct name) - THE ONLY REASON TO GET A VISA AT THE SUEZ CANAL IS TO BE ABLE TO DO SHOPPING THERE Anchoring in Egyptian waters - we anchored 1 month between Suez en port Ghalib without any trouble, only 1 check by coastguard - we anchored 2 months between port Ghalib and Sudan without visa, no problems either. - The second period was during corona times, so we can't guarantee that it will be always the same. rules aren't very straight forward here. our advise: just try! Yess we are doing a GIVEAWAY!! Win a full week on board of Messenger for 2 persons. check the details in/under DailyVlog 25 In November 2020 we arrived with our sailboat in Haifa, Israel. On the 17th of April 2020 we left marina Port Ghalib in Egypt, heading south towards Sudan and Djibouti and finally Maldives. We will take it easy, enjoy the beautiful reefs of the red sea and keep an eye on the corona regulations of the ports we pass. Since many countries are closed we don't know where we will be allowed to go on land again, but we can survive 4 month without seeing anybody :) This journey is only a small part of our trip that started 2 years ago. We got the sailing- skills on our friends yacht 'Shalom' when we joined them on a trip from the Netherlands to Spain. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtDOpi7ydzdcRK1H7fEiQFQ . In Spain we decided to go with our own boat, and in no time we were the happy owners of 'Messenger'. We left may 2018 and started vlogging from the beginning, we made 15 minute video's of our adventures, the nature and the many special people we met. We cooperated with OM to visit their projects and film them on our way. Since 19 of March we started with a daily vlog due to the corona situation. We plan to keep doing this the coming months.
