We experienced two thunderstorms, one squall, some rain, bumpy nights sleeping aboard but on the whole we thoroughly enjoyed some great sailing in the company of other boats from the Raid-Sydney crew. She launched at Patonga Creek on the central coast and experienced her first bar crossing both going out and re-entering. We did attempt to sail out to Lion Island but the wind proved too fickle. A weekend sailing dinghy adventure camping aboard a 14ft home built wooden sailing boat. ‘Lisa Jane’ explores Lake Macquarie and camps overnight on Elizabeth Island; a beautiful sand island at the Swansea entrance to Lake Macquarie. 9 boats from the Raid Sydney Crew experienced some beautiful sailing conditions but did face a 27knot squall before we reached the island.
