Check out all my other social here: https://linktr.ee/jake_majors03 In this week’s Episode we dive into some much needed boat work refilling all the water tanks and cleaning the bottom of the boat after she has been sitting in the bay for over a month!! It was a dirty job but someone had to do it! The bottom needed to be cleaned prior to leaving the bay and heading over to the east side of the Island for the upcoming haul out! Then after all of the work is done a day to just play is exactly what the doctor ordered! My friend calls me up and tells me I need to quit working so hard on my boat and to come out sailing with him! So I get to go receive my trimaran merit badge and really put this boat to this test. I was very impressed with just how fast this boat takes off out of the tac’s and how stable she sails. We got to a max speed of a little over 10 knots with a reefed main and jib in apx 12-15 knots of wind! Also we were sailing upwind!! So this felt like quite the ride to me! The boat handled very similar to my experience catamaran sailing where when tacking I needed to slow my initial turn and get the boat to start coming around otherwise if I turn to sharp it will kill all of the boats speed and the jib could be backwinded to bring the bow through the corner. Overall, this custom built wooden trimaran based off of the corsair trimarans was an absolute blast to sail! I can see why the corsair’s have grown in popularity. This trimaran only being 30’ had a very surprising amount of storage but the living space would be more comparable with a 25’ monohull just due to design and width. Hopefully you all enjoyed this footage, I had a really fun time launching and catching the drone from the moving boat! Talk about a stressful flight! Feel free to leave any comments below if you have any questions about the boat or this lifestyle in general! Thanks again Sam for taking me out for an amazing day on the water!

In this week video, We tear out Life Aquatics old heavy AGM batteries and install a set of new 300 Amp/hr batteries. Along with some new Victron gear including a Lynx distribution system, and a Smart Orion DC to DC charger. We move the already installed Victron MPPT controllers and Smart Shunt to open up more space to include a separate starter battery which previous owners has removed. Adding in this separate battery will provide more redundancy and therefore safety while out cruising. Overall, this video goes through my wiring diagram for the main power system of the boat, as well as the install of the new charge controller's panel. Overall upgrading to 600 Amp/Hr's of lithium batteries is a massive change from the 560 Amp/Hr's I previously had in my 6 year old AGM batteries! This was a week long project to get everything installed and looking neat but it was well worth the time in order to have lots of power moving forward! Please reach out if you have any questions or comments on the install, what Victron gear should I get next in order to continue to improve upon this system?

In Part 1 of our 5 day Spanish Island hopping adventure, we leave from the south coast of Puerto Rico at midnight and head on over to the stunning paradise called Culebrita! This small island on the east side of Culebra has a beautiful protected bay with one of my favorite beaches in the Caribbean! It also hosts a beautiful lighthouse and coral reefs on the west side! Because its so close to the mainland of Puerto Rico it becomes a very busy destination on the weekends! My poor friend couldn't stand motoring into the wind for the first 10 hours of the trip, but after a whole bunch of Dramamine she finally came back alive in time to go explore the island! Join us as we show you some of our favorite spots! Sadly tho, we didn't make it to the lighthouse so that will be a part of our next journey to the Island! In Part 2 we move from Culebrita to Culebra and explore all that the main island has to offer! Stay Tuned the next episode will be shortly! https://linktr.ee/jake_majors03 Patreon Waitlist: patreon.com/SailingLifeAquatic?utm_source=waitlist

After a week break to focus on a few projects, Fiona and I are back to tell you all about our solar upgrades and what we liked and disliked about reinforcing the existing dinghy davits! New Victron gear is getting installed alongside the existing Victron gear along with a new solar panel! We are in a race against time battling Amazon deliveries, Welders that don't show up, and a close approaching deadline to leave the dock I am on! Lots to cover in this video as davits and solar panels are no small object on a liveaboards boat! At the very end I leave a review of how the project turned out, and don't forget to watch for little Fiona's cameos! Also not featured here but Matt from the sailing channel GBU gave me a huge hang be helping me get off the dock and back out to the mooring ball with no new scratches on board the boat! If you have any questions about the Victron gear please leave some comments below. I am among the many that think these are some of the best controllers and charging systems you can get so I would love to answer any questions with real honesty about these products!

Today I will take you through my 2006 Bavaria 39 Sailboat. It is in the process of being Re-fitted for some serious Caribbean cruising while living full time on board with my puppy Fiona!! I am hoping to inspire others to get out there and live their dreams, as I am still working a full time job while re-outfitting a boat! It can be done and I can't wait to see you'll on the water! Remember if this was supposed to be easy everyone would be doing it. This is why you meet the coolest people out there once you get started! As always, I am here to answer questions about this lifestyle, what makes it hard, what makes it completely worth it and even what it's like living on board with a pup! Leave your questions in the comments below, as eventually these conversations will move over to my Patreon account, still pending to be launched!

We are finally back in Puerto Rico and its time to get down with some boat projects! In this video Fiona and I tackle some big projects like the motor, dinghy davits, and the never ending battle against the sun with some portlight gasket repairs. Although this boat sailed back with no problems we were very lucky to not have any! Being an engineering means I want to know exactly how every system works and reinforce the boats systems as much as I can for less problems in the future. I have booked a month on a dock so its time to get to work while unlimited power is easy, the davits are overhead and I'm tied up for a bit so wont be needing the motor! Leave a comment if you have a question about any of the projects and why I decided to tackle these first! The only sad part about buying a German boat is that all of the shore power systems are wired for 220V and I have nothing of the sort nor do the docks! So eventually it would be beautiful to install a second US outlet on board and pair it with a Victron smart inverter charger to keep this boat powered! Stay tuned for more projects, sailing, and adventures coming up!

Well after filming a few boats and viewing 9 others that weren't even worth filming I have finally settled down on the one! And what better time to buy a boat then when one of your best friends is coming to visit! Katerina and I go through the boat buying process and enjoy a few days in paradise on the beautiful island of ST John at my friends mountain top Airbnb! Then after a little provisioning and a whole lot of luck we take off for a crossing to Puerto Rico island hopping our way with a brand new boat to us! What an adventure this has turned out to be, and its only just starting!

My first filmed boat tour!! I am on my way to view a 90's Island Packet, it has been used as a floating hotel for some time so I need to evaluate how easily it can be turned into a quick comfortable live aboard and a potential Caribbean Island hopping machine!!
