After covering about 1400 nautical miles starting from Labuan Bajo (Komodo National Park) and heading towards Sorong (Raja Ampat National Park) we have had some amazing adventures around beautiful Indonesia. Sweet Rikke has created a video containing some of the amazing moments of our almost 90 days on the water.

Jovial has joined the "Danish Amarda" consisting of the following 3 ships Northern Lights, North Star and the North Wind with Sune Bæk Hansen and Jannick Siebert as captains. I am so happy to share the experience with all the sweet people and we have talked about setting course together towards Raja Ampat

It was time to haulout Jovial from the ocean to do some routine work like antifoul, polishing, oil change on z-drives as well as cleaning and rust removal, etc. I also got my anchor and the chain regalvanized - super nice and cheap.

I was anchoring off Asahan in southwestern Lombok near Gili Gede and unfortunately had my anchor and chain wrapped in a few liner underwater. I therefore had to freedive down to release the anchor.

After more than 4 weeks alone on the ship, sailing around in this very unique and amazing area, Raja Ampat, it's now necessary to get new supplies and provisioned almost everything. I'm completely out of vegetables, rice, pasta. etc. So Jovial has droped the moorings from Wayag, pulled up the anchor and set course for the small trading town named Waisai. I have been to Waisai once before and during that visit I have made a few good contacts that can help me in, out and around the area - and since there is still some uncertainty and concerns about corona, it is always good to have a friend or two. In this video you see pictures from the local city and the marketplace. I have some challenges with the tide as it swings more than 2 meters and I cannot immediately get my dinghy out after shopping. -------------------------------- Please check out my website at the following address for more information about the ship Jovial. https://sailingjovial.dk We are cruising around the world and diving the most incredible places. When living on board a sailing ship and not having access to drinking water supply, collecting rainwater is an opportunity to obtain drinking water, water for cooking, do the dishes, laundry, etc. In this video I show how I usually collect rainwater. -------------------------------- Please check out my website at the following address for more information about the ship Jovial. https://sailingjovial.dk We are cruising around the world and diving the most incredible places. In 2019 I decided to quit my job. I have been in the IT Security business all my life and now I want to try out new challenge and excited adventures. I want to sail the world's seas. Therefore I bought this little amazing sailing ship that has been designed and built in Sweden and sailed all the way down here to Indonesia in Raja Ampat. This video describes the frames for my idea and plans that I want to achieve in 2020/2021. For one month ago I was handed the helm to the gorgeous Swedish designed and built, but Norwegian registered, sailing ship Jovial. Despite COVID-19 I managed to get around both geographically sailing as well as mentally in my thought and dreams. In the process I have become sharper in what I want and dream of achieving in this adventure that started back in December 2019. So I have celebrated this evening with freshly baked bread, different delicious sausage and cheese as well as a lovely American imported wine - all brought from Bali, just to celebrate this goal to complete my website sailingjovial.dk So today there is baked bread on board Jovial and I am extremely pleased with the result;) -------------------------------- Please check out my website at the following address for more information about the ship Jovial. https://sailingjovial.dk We are cruising around the world and diving the most incredible places. Maybe there is something to maintain below the ship? Who are my neighbors or rather - who are my sub-residents? -------------------------------- Please check out my website at the following address for more information about the ship Jovial. https://sailingjovial.dk We are cruising around the world and diving the most incredible places.
