In this episode we join the Ocean Crusaders/ Sunsail Flotilla over an action packed week, where we collect a whopping 2000KG of rubbish from the beaches of the Whitsundays! We start our adventure at Shute Harbour and sail to the Lindeman Islands, where we find a catamaran stuck on the shore, a dinghy wedged up high in the rocks and beaches covered in plastic pollution! We sail on to some of the most amazing islands the Whitsundays have to offer including Hamilton Island, Whitsunday Island and Hook Island. We also clean-up some of the most beautiful beaches in Australia including Whitehaven beach, so it can continue to be preserved as one of the most amazing locations in the world. Throughout this adventure, we aim to leave nothing behind but our footprints and restore the beaches of the Whitsunday islands to how they once were! During the trip we visited the historic aboriginal caves at Narra Inlet and reflect on how pristine these locations must have been centuries ago. We hope to spread awareness about the major plastic pollution issue in Australia, many people tend to think that we are not affected by it here as we are a first world country, but that's not the case! The affects of plastic pollution can be greatly seen on the Australian East Coastline, and with the help of organisations like ocean crusaders, we aim to clean-up Australia one plastic piece at a time! Cleaning up rubbish from our oceans will not only preserve our beautiful beaches but will save so many marine animals from death by plastic. If you are inspired by this story find out how you can get involved in an ocean clean-up here at https://oceancrusaders.org/ and if you are interested in joining next years flotilla or just want to get out sailing in the Whitsundays to see what our beautiful Great Barrier Reef has to offer go to https://www.rentayacht.com.au/ for some awesome bareboat charter options! FULL VIDEO TO COME!!! A sneak peak at the awesome adventure which was 2020's Ocean Crusaders Whitsundays beach clean-up! The Sailing Bluefin Crew joined the flotilla for a week to clean-up our beautiful Whitsundays, starting in the Lindeman Islands and adventuring all around the Whitsundays including to the gorgeous Whitehaven beach, pictured in this amazing preview! This was such a rewarding experience, with a fantastic outcome of over 2 tonnes of rubbish collected from the beaches around the Whitsundays over the week. In this sneak peak, we have just spent hours from 6 am to 12, hauling/digging out a dinghy from the mangroves behind Hasslewood Island, and picking up all sorts of other plastics including tyres, fuel containers, plastic bottles...the list goes on. After working hard to help our beautiful environment, we were so lucky to be able to enjoy the stunning day and warm waters of Whitehaven beach, one of the many precious beaches, we are working so hard to preserve. It's important for us to show the two sides of this beautiful place, we show us enjoying the one of the most beautiful places on earth, to emphasis how important it is that we keep it this way! We aim to leave nothing behind but our footprints!!! Please share this video to provide awareness and show your support for this awesome cause! Let us know what you think in the comments below! In this episode of Sailing Bluefin, we bring you back to 2019 to show you another DIY task that is simple when you know how to do it! Sealing a joint on your boat using boat sealers like this silicone one, can be a simple fix to leaks that cause issues every time it rains! You can also use another type of marine sealant or boat sealant like marine grade Sikaflex, but for this we used Selleys Marine flex after having issues with Sikaflex. We hope this do it yourself video helps with all those leaks! Love our videos and want to help us create more content? In this Sailing Bluefin episode, after a week of rain we finally took a trip to Mclean, but after some dinghy engine trouble, it became our trip to Iluka! Iluka is a cute little town across from Yamba, and ended up being a great adventure, and we even managed to get some delicious pies at the local bakery. Later on that day we also head up to the Yamba bar and see some beautiful dolphins and the incredibly big swells of the bar! Love our videos and want to help us create more content? In real time 26 May 2020, we are currently in Mooloolaba and we couldn't help but share this beautiful sunset we had at Mooloolaba Marina. Mooloolaba is on the sunshine coast and is a beautiful beach front town! In this little clip you can also see Dannii packing away our dock lines so that we don't trip on them when walking around the deck.

Want to know the best places to visit in Australia are? and where to find the best snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef? Well, The Keppel Islands, specifically Great Keppel Island is definitely at the top of the list! Great Keppel Island has some of the most amazing coral and marine life on The Great Barrier Reef that we have seen so far. Just off of Monkey Beach on Great Keppel Island is an absolute hot spot for blue staghorn coral, dozens of fish and is a great place to see green sea turtles on the Great Barrier Reef! Australia is famous for its amazing Great Barrier Reef and the bright coral and sealife that comes with it. Unfortunately much of our beautiful reef has been affected by the Great Barrier Reef bleaching and you can see some bleaching of the reef in this video. Although, thankfully the Keppel Islands have not been as detrimentally affected by the Great Barrier Reef bleaching as other parts of the Great Barrier Reef like up in the Whitsundays. There are still lots of Great Keppel Island snorkeling tours going out at all times of the day to see the reef, but there's nothing like snorkeling on your own schedule for hours on end! The sea turtles at the reef were so friendly and curious, and we were so lucky to capture this amazing footage of them!! Enjoy! Love our videos and want to help us create more content? Rainman watermaker demonstration - 1:34 Rainman review - 7:43 Packing away the rainman watermaker - 15:25 We show you how we make our own pure filtered drinking water using the portable Rainman watermaker. Q: What watermaker do we have?- 1:18 It's a 240 volt AC Rainman watermaker --- if you are wondering why we did not get a 12v one, click here - 15:25 --- Q: Why did we choose the Rainman? (Pro's/Con's) - 7:25 Well in short it is fantastic! Small, portable/semi portable (or can be installed), simple and easy to use! Plus Rainman is an Australian brand and has provides brilliant customer service - 15:27. Q: Why did we want to make our own water??? Our end goal was always to be as self sufficient as we possibly could aboard Bluefin, and having the ability to turn saltwater in to clean, pure drinking water helped us to fulfil that goal. Having a water maker means not having to use a hose on land to fill up with fresh water. In turn this means longer passages without needing to visit civilisation and a tap. In this Sailing Bluefin episode we show you how to use vht vinyl dye to repaint your boat seats! This is a fantastic DIY way to revamp your outdoor vinyl marine upholstery, instead of going through the trouble of re-upholstering your seat backs or cushions. Vht vinyl dye is really easy to use and doesn't break the budget. For this seat back we used 2 cans of vht vinyl dye and did 3 coats of dye overall. We were so happy with the result, we thought we had to share this with the sailing community out there. So please let us know what you think in the comments!
