In this episode drifting across the Finnish archipelago wasn’t exactly the plan… but sometimes the sea has other ideas. In this video, we set sail from Kökar with our sights on Björkö, expecting a classic day under sail. Instead, we were met with a rare kind of stillness — no wind, glassy waters, and a horizon that barely moved. What followed turned into something completely different from what we imagined. With the sails hanging quiet and the engine taking over, the journey became less about speed and more about soaking in the calm. Endless islands, mirror-like reflections, and that strange feeling of being suspended in time made this trip unforgettable in its own way. It’s not always about perfect sailing conditions — sometimes it’s about adapting, slowing down, and appreciating the silence out at sea. If you enjoy peaceful ocean views, slow travel, and a bit of real-life sailing unpredictability, this one’s for you. In this episode, we cast off from Rödhamn and set our course for Möholm under near-perfect skies. With the sun on our backs and the sea calm beneath us, we take the dinghy out for a spontaneous adventure—one that leads us to a secluded, untouched island. What we find there turns into a truly unforgettable experience, the kind that reminds you why you set sail in the first place. We kick off this season (2025) by setting course for Rödlöga, pushing through thick fog that keeps us on our toes from the very start. After navigating our way through, we head out on the crossing to Åland—only to be met with more fog, shifting winds, and even a sudden squall along the way. It’s a challenging but rewarding sail that finally brings us safely into the beautiful harbor of Rödhamn. In this episode we leave the beautiful anchorage at Lilla Nassa—but the calm doesn’t last long. As we make our way through the outer Stockholm archipelago, the sky darkens and we end up sailing straight into a thunderstorm in Stora Nassa. After riding out the storm, the reward is worth it. We explore the incredible maze of rocks and islands by dinghy, discovering some of the wildest landscapes in the archipelago. From there we head to the legendary sailing hotspot Sandhamn, the party capital of the Baltic. On the way back toward home we stop at Bullandö to try to fix our radar, before finishing the trip with some diving around Stora Sandön. Storms, exploration, repairs, and a bit of archipelago nightlife. We enjoy Luaters hamn and all that it has to offer, what a beautiful place. Next we head onto Visby, the winds look great and I can tell you it was an amazing sail but not without some concern as the winds increase. I hope you enjoy this one PATREON: https://www.patreon.com/sailingaurora INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/sail.aurora/ Buy us a beer: PAYPAL: paypal.me/sailingaurora
We bounce around the bays of northern Fårö just next to Gotland. What a beautiful island this is. Next we move around the corner to Lauters hamn not realising how windy it actually is with a dinghy loaded with an engine on, not a great idea. Always good to spend the time getting the engine off before a windy passage PATREON: https://www.patreon.com/sailingaurora INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/sail.aurora/ Buy us a beer: PAYPAL: paypal.me/sailingaurora

In this one we look at crossing to Gotska Sandön, but when going with a boat you shouldn't try and force a schedule, the winds will always have their way. PATREON: https://www.patreon.com/sailingaurora INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/sail.aurora/ Buy us a beer: PAYPAL: paypal.me/sailingaurora

Hi, I just thought I would share some knowledge here about syncing the navionics on a tablet with your chart plotter. I hope it saves somebody some time. This video specifically shows how to sync navionics on an Ipad to the B&G Zeus 3 chart plotter. Cheers, Chris
