We finished fixing and painting the cockpit, got some of the hardware for rigging back on the boat so we could actually use the Genoa (jib) and set sail for the FIRST time on Freddie! The day finally came! After so many false starts, marina delays and rollercoaster emotions, she is finally where she belongs: in the water!! This time-lapse video shows us getting her secured in the travel lift slings, and following her out of the cradle and over the launch area? kept reminding myself to breathe!

The anticipation of launching our tiny liveaboard that we just bought in September, but have never sailed yet, is just coming to a head! There have been multiple delays from the marina: first we were told that we could launch as soon as we were ready, which was May 4th weekend. Then we were told that it couldn't be launched until marina opening which was May 15th. They weren't ready because they are repairing many of the docks? Long story short (too late!) they attempted to launch us May 21st but couldn't fit the travel lift between the two boats neighbouring us? Finally, they promised Saturday May 25th 8am? This was my reaction to the first attempt at launching Freddie, after over a week of waiting past the day we were told we would be launched? We put our lives on hold to get her ready and to show up for this, not to mention getting our hopes way up that we would finally see her off land and back where she belongs, in the water? My heart was hurting and I felt frustrated? but tried to focus on positives.
