Rebecca Childress upgraded her Class C Motorhome RV to LifePO4 Batteries, but she took it one step further and also got an AllPowers Solar Generator as a second LifePO4 battery bank, as well as portable solar panels because she wanted more battery capacity and power. She has done some upgrades over the last year to prepare for a lithium battery upgrade on her RV, including a battery monitor, a new lithium compliant converter, a 3000 watt inverter, and Bouge RV solar panels that she actually had tied on to her sailboat but then glued to the roof of her RV. Whats Best? E-biking from the campground or flat towing a car behind a class C motorhome to travel away from the RV parks while camping? Rebecca Childress is new to the rv life, and is now full time RVing, solo, in her 29' class C motorhome. The ebike was great for fun rides, but the e-bike wasn't enough as a primary mode of transport away from the motorhome and campground. She decided to flat tow a small Honda HRV behind her RV for a few reasons which will be discussed in her latest RV video. Sailing Rebecca Childress just completed a 16+ year circumnavigation on her bluewater sailboat Brick House. The first 13 years was with her husband Patrick Childress who then passed from Covid 19 in South Africa before they could finish together. She decided to finish her circumnavigation and carried on for another 3 years, nearly 7,000 miles to the Caribbean with captain Michael Hayward from South Africa, and then as captain herself, with crew from Grenada to the USA, another 2000 miles. After settling in to Brunswick Landing Marina in Brunswick, GA for a few months, she decided to sell her amazing bluewater sailboat. The responsibility of owning an offshore sailboat, was taking a huge toll on her health and happiness and she decided to start over in an RV. Her last SAILING video on her channel tells the story of why she decided to put up her beloved sailboat for sale, and move on to an RV to explore the USA. She will continue this channel as an RV Life channel rather than a sailing channel now. The end of an Era. The beginning of another. Going forward, she will cruise on her new land yacht, or motor yacht called "RV Brick House" and will continue this channel comparing and contrasting her new RV life with her old Sailing life. After finding great crew, finally, Rebecca Childress nearly finishes her 14 year circumnavigation aboard SV Brick House, but stops 100 miles short in Great Inagua. 100 more miles to go! Josh finds our anchor chain has twisted in to a giant knot and has to unravel it. He shows how he does this, and explains the two models of the Mantus Anchor Chain hooks / snubbers that we have on this sailboat. She sets up the Iridium GO to take over the datahub and they put up the running pole and depart offshore for the Bahamas! At least now Rebecca has found very good crew, who carry on with her for the rest of her circumnavigation, making the rest of the ocean passage very pleasant. Rebecca has felt the great burden, responsibility and risk of making sure her boat is seaworthy and safe! For better or worse, it is paying off... she is almost there now...has almost finished her 14 year circumnavigation . What will come next for Rebecca Childress and her sailing life? Rebecca Childress has new crew arrive and after some chores we take off sailing to Carriacou on a windy stormy day. The boat is well prepared for the rambunctious sail across these familiar waters, and the crew does great. the captain is feeling a bit of anxiety, but at least we are sailing and make it to the next island without incident. Michael Hayward helped Rebecca Childress sail her sailboat "Brick House" across the Atlantic ocean to the Caribbean to continue her circumnavigation. Now he has found his own sailboat, all but abandoned in the Caribbean, and sails away on his new Laurin Koster sailboat- a little Swedish sailboat built to cross oceans!
