My mother had always wanted to walk with Alpacas, so to celebrate her 80th birthday, we arranged to walk a pack of Alpacas with Brockmoor Head near Ross on Wye in Herefordshire.

Seeing a red kite soaring high in the sky hunting or being opportunistic is a true delight! Once a very rare bird, hunted close to extinction in the UK, thanks to successful reintroduction projects, these wonderful birds can now be seen in lots of places in the UK. The M40 corridor was one of the first re-introduction sites for these birds of prey. They are quite like the common Buzzard, but the red kite has more angled red wings that are tipped with black and a beautiful forked tail. Sometimes they can be seen hunting for food, but mostly red kites are in fact largely scavengers or flying high looking for opportunities, roadkill, newly fledged birds, and small prey like rabbits. Listen out for their 'mewing' calls, when the sun is shining and warm thermals help them soar high in the skies. Longer than my normal short films, not sure if it drags on a little? Buying and moving aboard a narrowboat ticked all the boxes for us. It gave us our own offgrid home and floating office allowing us to be creative designing websites and producing awesome content for our clients. Being able to navigate round the British waterways lets us indulge our passions like filming wildlife as we cruise along, what better way heh! This little short is us getting used to our Zcam S6 again and embracing hand held filming with a lovely old cinematographer lens. We are currently on the Oxford canal, about to head onto the river Thames, then making our way to the Kennet & Avon canal system.

Cornish Hedgerows this time of year, beware where you step or sit as you may just be in for a big surprise. UK's only venomous snake, the Adder (Vipera berus) the often shy adder can be found basking in the sunshine in woodland glades, heathlands or old Cornish walls. An adder bite is a very rare occurrence, and can be quite painful, but is almost never fatal to humans, but be careful walking your dogs near locations. Adders average lifespan is up to 15 years. Adders hunt lizards and small rodents, as well as ground-nesting birds. Filmed on Z Cam E2 S6 with Sigma 105mm Macro lens.

The battle on the Cornish coastline for the local wildlife. Short-eared owls hunting in the afternoon sun, but the pesky Corvids challenge them constantly, ending with aerial fighting displays. Whilst the battle unfolds, the fox is hunting for voles and the kestrel waiting patiently for anything it can prey upon. Gulls engage in a free for all feeding frenzy, thanks to the local farmer ploughing his fields for the season ahead. Short-Eared owl: Asio flammeus, or 'Shortie', is mostly seen out and about in the daytime and easily spotted in the wintertime when migrants join resident birds. Look out for it over the moors and saltmarshes. Short-eared owls mainly hunt during the daytime, flying low over tussocks grasslands, moors and saltmarshes to feed on field voles and small birds. Similar size as the Barn owl, but with longer wings. The short-eared owl breeds in Northern England and Scotland can be seen more widely in winter depending on storm wind directions. They tend to nest on the ground in very rough ground cover scrub like Gorse, Blackthorn & brambles in scraped-out hollows lined with grass and downy feathers. Filmed in Cornwall around October/November over suitable hunting grasslands on the Cornwall coastline. You will often see up to half a dozen owls all hunting together, quartering the area. Fights often happen mid-air if-then encroach on each other's patch. The owls get mobbed, hassled or attacked by other birds, including Crows, Jackdoors, Magpies, Ravens, Kestrels, Peregrines; you can see invasive tactics and wing clapping ward off predators. Testing the Zcam E2 S6 C4K241 at 100 fps. Lovely young Roe deer doe coming out of woodland into the farmers fields browsing on tender young shoots. Was very low light but the Zcam S6 handled the available light really well. Lens was the RED 300mm T2.8 prime, just love this lens, OMG i love this rig setup.

I'm putting together a series of one minute short films, whilst I work on a bigger project on my local foxes. This first one minute short is about my local moor and a lovely young Roe Deer. Goss Moor is the largest remaining area of mid-Cornwall moorland and is a National Nature Reserve with a multi-use trail. The mostly flat valley basin is the source of the River Fal. A designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Special Area of Conservation, the reserve is home to many rare species including Cornish Moneywort, yellow Centaury, Cornish Pillwort, marsh Clubmoss, small red damselfly, variable damselfly and the marsh Fritillary butterfly.

Short wildlife film on hares - The brown Hare lives 2 to 4 years and can reach speeds of over 40 mph when evading predators like the fox of Buzzard. All my wildlife film and wildlife photography is filmed on a Sony A7iii and the Sony 200mm to 600mm F6.3 lens.

The latest short film about a small group of Roe deer and a rogue Fallow deer that live in my local woodland and meadows near where I live in Cornwall. Wildlife photography and filmmaking has taught me many things. The two most important aspects are, PATIENCE and OBSERVATION without these spending time in woodland, forest or meadow would not be as rewarding. People are too busy in their lives, and they don't even realise that these magnificent beasts live alongside us. In the meadow, laid down just the other side of a hedgerow, tucked in behind the prickly Gorze that smells of coconut reminding us summer is on the way very soon. Following animal pathways through the forest and fields, using fieldcraft to identify animal tracks and droppings will tell you so much about what mammals live or frequent your local woods.
