Okay so not actual ASMR, but anyway... Been a while! I've been recording something here and there, just haven't gotten around to editing stuff. Got a new bike though (I still have the SXV) and figured I'd throw together a quick film. Pretty chill riding and uncut. Just enjoying that sweet sound and the smells of summer. Shot on GoPro Hero 8 Black
Wannabe cinematic footage onboard a 2009 aprilia sxv 450 supermoto, in the autumn in Finland. Shot on GoPro Hero 8 Black mounted on the sunvisor of the helmet. Shot in 4k30fps, superview, no image stabilization, with an ND32 filter and 1/60 shutter speed. Edited and color graded in DaVinci Resolve. Arrow exhaust system. Any questions?
Onboard of an Aprilia SXV 450 on finnish gravel roads, forest roads, service roads whatever you call 'em. Gonna look for better tires for this stuff next year. 2009 Aprilia SXV, arrow undertail exhaust, translogic PSR-2 powershifter. Shot on GoPro Hero 8 Black, helmet mount.
A small part of a recent gravel road ride on some forest service roads. I'll upload the full vid sometime soon. Aprilia SXV 450 supermoto, arrow titanium undertail exhaust system, Translogic PSR-2 powershifter (spinal cord injury, paraparesis) Filmed with GoPro Hero 8 Black in 4k30fps, superview, no image stabilization, helmet mount, ND8 filter. Edited in DaVinci Resolve 18.
Was on my way to take some photos and my GoPro died, but I liked the look of this one so here's another shorty. Aprilia SXV 450 supermoto Arrow titanium exhaust (undertail) Captured on GoPro Hero 8 Black, 4k30fps, superview, ND16.
I meant to film a short 4k60fps test, but accidentally ended up shooting it in 30fps, sooooo... That went well... Figured I'd upload it anyway. Lighting is all over the place too. Aprilia SXV 450 Arrow Titanium exhaust (undertail) Helmet mounted GoPro Hero8 Black, ND16-filter
It's been a while and I wanted to upload something. So here's a minimum effort uncut clip from a sunday ride. Only 1080p cause I had to save disk space and battery and wanted to record as much as I could. I'll do something more high quality again soon, I'm really getting to enjoy riding again. Oh and I installed a powershifter. No, not a quickshifter. I can change gear by pressing buttons now, which makes riding a whole lot easier for me. Barely visible on the video, but the gear shift buttons are below the handlebar on the left thumb. Aprilia SXV 450 Arrow titanium exhaust (undertail) Translogic PSR-2 Powershifter Shot on GoPro Hero 8 Black
A short ride through a nice green gravel road in the forests. Slowly getting used to longer rides and shifting. Can't move my ankles at all so it takes some getting used to. First time wearing mx boots, that takes getting used to as well.... Aprilia sxv 450, arrow titanium underseat exhaust, GoPro Hero 8 Black chest mount. 4K.
Nothing exciting here, just a leisurely stroll on some forest roads - getting familiar with riding the bike after a long hiatus. It's been a while, but I'm alive and well! Spinal cord injuries are a real bastard, but luckily I've recovered well enough to be able to ride again. Life's good.
I like the colors and scenery in this one, even through the bug-stained camera lense. It was a nice ride. 2009 Aprilia SXV 450, Arrow undertail exhaust.
Recorded in the middle of summer testing 24fps. No idea if I had an ND Filter on, nor do I remember any of the settings. Motion blur wasn't really top notch so the shutter speed was probably too fast. Not really happy with the footage quality, but the weather and scenery was nice enough. And so was the ride. This ones more chill, enjoying the weather and all.
Early autumn ride on an Aprilia SXV 450. One of my last rides of 2020. Since the last video the bike was upgraded with the arrow underseat titanium system and Alice Racing mapping with XV Tuner. One of the last rides for a while actually, since I broke my back in an unfortunate accident at work (not bike related). I'm currently in a wheelchair, but I can walk decently with support. Right now it looks like I'll be able to get back on a bike normally someday, maybe in a year, only time will tell. Spinal cord injuries heal slowly and unpredictably. If not, then I'll get back on a bike some other way. Where there's a will there's a way. I'm actually doing very well. While the situation sucks of course, it's also been very eye opening and made me appreciate many things in life, especially these memoirs. I still have some untouched footage to work through of my last SXV rides, some Daytona stuff as well in the archives. I meant to shoot some more with the triumph, but oh well, life got in the way. Oh, and if you've been thinking about getting a motorcycle? Do it, life is just too short and unpredictable.
Testing the Gopro chest mount on the SXV. Filmed on a Gopro Hero 8 Black, PolarPro ND16-filter, processing in Davinci Resolve 16. Gear visible in video: Dainese racing 3 jacet, triumph brookes gloves and revit lombard 2 jeans. Bike is a 2009 Aprilia SXV 4.5, stock exhaust, for now...
Getting to know the SXV on some gravel as well as tarmac. No road is twisty enough. Standard Gopro settings with a LUT slapped on in Davinci Resolve. I was lazy.
A short introduction of my new second bike! 2009 Aprilia SXV 450, one of the craziest supermotos out there! A lightweight motard with a V-Twin? This thing is a ton of fun. And a ton of maintenance. Possibly a ton of repairs too. We'll see. Just wanted to shoot a quick video, so 4k30fps, superview, hypersmooth on, everything on auto, iso 100-400, standard bitrate, medium sharpness and gopro color etc. I think it still looks pretty good.
What to do when you have Michelin Road 5's on your bike and a long awaited warm summer rain arrives after a long drought? Only my jacket was waterproof, but the rain was so warm it didn't matter. The audio goes a bit...underwater nearing the end of the video. Probably because the wind muff got drenched. Filmed in 4K30fps with Gopro hero 8 black (ND8 filter)
Summer ride on roads I'd never been on before. Filmed on Gopro Hero 8 Black and Polarpro ND16 filter. 2007 Triumph Daytona 675 /w Arrow Slipon exhaust.
Summer is here! First some spirited riding through twisties and then cruising around the countryside, enjoying the sights and smells of summer and the sound of a triple!
Riding towards the sunset on tarmac & gravel. Lots of parts came out badly underexposed, but I cobbled something together from the ok bits, there's still some decent scenery in there. The gravel road was pretty smooth after the winter, with very little actual gravel on the surface. It feels like you're going a million on roads like these. Some shadowy parts were wet and soft, and I had to watch out for rabbits and deer. Gopro Hero 8 Black PolarPro ND16 (should've used ND8 probably, or maybe even no filter) 4k30fps Superview Hypersmooth On Bit rate High Shutter: 1/60 White Balance: Auto Iso min/max: 100/400 (maybe should've upped max to 800 or 1600...) Sharpness: Low Color: Flat Wind reduction: On + wind muff Edited in Davinci Resolve 16.
Wind noise finally resolved! Ordered a set of Rycote Micro Windjammer's and stuck 'em over the mics of the gopro. Basically a dead cat sticker. Much better audio now! This road is in terrible condition, worse than it looks in the video. Still an enjoyable ride, even though the bike was trying to buck me off and the air was trying to freeze my fingers off. GoPro Hero8 Black + PolarPro ND32-filter 4k30fps Superview Hypersmooth: On Bitrate: High Shutter: 1/60 White Balance: Auto ISO min/max: 100/400 Sharpness: Low Color: Flat Wind reduction: On Editing in Davinci Resolve 16
