Welcome to our first episode where we explore the Dry Tortugas National Park, our first stop on our Western Caribbean sailing adventure, where we had a little fun while waiting on a good weather window to cross the gulfstream into Cuba. This is what happens when you get too close to the pelicans when there's a feeding frenzy.

In September 2015, we headed from Florida's east coast to the west coast by way of the Okeechobee waterway. We saw gator, eagles, manatee and more, had our boat "tipped" to get our 53' mast under the infamous 49' bridge, and had a great time doing it. We spent our first Thanksgiving on the boat with our friend Ron. No room for a big turkey in the oven so we did turkey breast instead. Yummy! Happy Thanksgiving!

Our trip aboard Vacilando began in May 2012... this is a video of some of our first 6 months on our Cal 35 sailboat. We left Panama City, sailed across the Gulf and up the East Coast to the Chesapeake, and down to Ft. Lauderdale via the Intracoastal Waterway. Enjoy! www.mondovacilando.com
