24 foot sailboat "Promise" comes through gale winds while anchored in The Great Salt Pond, Block Island, Rhode Island. September 14, 2011

Sept. 1, 2011. Stratford Shoals, Bridge Point,Connecticut Course 070E winds out of the SE at 10-15 kts. We left Sheffield Island (part of the Norwalk, Islands) this morning. The winds started picking up. We have the stay sail up. Come ride with us for the next minute or so....

11:07 a.m. August 28, 2011. View from our hotel. Our 24' sail boat, that we live aboard is a ten minute ride from here. We wonder how she's fairing. Surges of 4'-8' expected. Downgraded to a Tropical Storm we're still eager to get back to the marina. We'll wait for the rain to subside and call a cab.
