We’re Susan and Paul Herbert, native Mainers who moved to Florida in 2002. In 2020, we threw caution to the wind, selling our 2,700 sq ft house and moving into a fifth-wheel trailer – but our true dream was living on a boat. It was painfully obvious that our 30’ sailboat wasn’t going to work as a live-aboard with two Australian Shepherds (and nothing mini about them), so we started looking at larger sailboats, then powerboats. We found what we were looking for in a 48’ Californian cockpit motor yacht, ditched the fifth wheel in late July 2020, and never looked back. Realizing we needed mobility on land as well as water, we sold our cars and replaced them with an Airstream Interstate class B motor home that we use as our sole driving vehicle. We now live on the boat in Port Canaveral, Florida and use the class B van for our land adventures all over the country.
