Everybody is using 3D printers but I like functional 3D pen projects. So I took my tiny qev cannon (cal 4'5mm) and made a matching frame to make a saloon / parlor airgun. Charging takes some time, but just like any muzzleloader. Tiny plastic beads fly at 148m/s, peaking 0'69J Steel bbs are possible thanks to a tiny magnet inside. The frame is 3D drawn PLA plus toothpicks, skewers and some rubber bands. Trigger is even less than double action :) Eye protection is mandatory! (next plan is a working model passenger airbag!!)

Don't forget to paint the corners for the inner ear flesh :) Murciélago o vampiro de papiroflexia no sé cómo no se le ocurrió a nadie antes pinta las esquinas color carne para el interior de la oreja :)

An attempt to make a tiny working sailboat. Works best going at 90° but it may just be able to go at 45° against the wind??? No sailor experience! Please be kind :) I found it easier to trim than my miniature inflatable raft. Having two sails I can loosen the prow sail so that the aft sail does the work but also makes an aft drag that turns the boat windward, somehow balancing the tendency to turn with the wind. Construction: Hull made out of a cork (cutting pattern coming soon) Sails are plastic bags for sandwiches. Also dog poop bags will work, since the plastic is really thin Masts are made out of a wooden toothpick and a cotton swab Rigging is sewing thread Fins are from a credit card Ballast is a sinking lead

Quick test of a tiny QEV cannon firing air at 12atm, viewed through a Schlieren setup (no razor blade). 1/8th speed (15fps) and improved video performance because somehow Youtube cropped the last frames of the other videos (?) I didn't quite understood the need for a razor blade but without one I still see the flow of air. For me, the razor blade just makes the dot of light smaller(?) If anyone can clarify me what the razor blade really does and where it should be placed (in the source of light or in the camera) I'd really appreciate. Also important to note that this is AWESOME to look with the naked eye but almost the dimmest light can blind you. I covered a tiny LED torch with aluminum foil and punctured a hole with a sewing needle, on the side! so that the LED doesn't bright directly through the hole. Take care with the eyes!!

I had this clip forgotten from nov21 While free sailing, the wind was blowing erratically. I thought there was enough wind on the surface, but I also noticed there were no ripples on the water... so I guess I'd need a taller model or a stronger wind. Eolo favored me with a strong gust, enough to move the boat...had it not capsized. next time I'll add a coin to the keel fin, or even have a longer one with a counterweight at the bottom.

The toy had a propeller (sort of like an outboard) and was powered by a wind up motor. Now it's got a sail and is powered by a wind ahoy breeze! :D

Tiny land yacht using parts from an old solar car. I first tried at home with a handheld fan and it quite worked. I was getting frustrated but before throwing it all away, I decided to try outside. Great idea you see. This thing flies!! Not windy at all, just breezy. Have a look at the water coming towards the camera... Sail is made from a very thin fridge bag. You can glue it. I instead used a thermal sealing device to make a tube to insert the bbq skewer. The wheels are cheap plastic and very slippery, so I put some thin rubber bands. I bet the neck of a party balloon will work even better. A cork with an indentation is all it takes to clamp the sewing string and set the angle of the boom.

This is part 3 of three videos showing you some peppers being cooked with the sun. Part 1: https://youtu.be/KFBcQ7RomtI Part 2: https://youtu.be/MUg6LNc5Tik Peppers are easy to cook, since they are vegetables, containing mostly water. The peppers were already cooked in part 2 but I had to let things cook for longer. I underrated the movement of the sun, and I overrated the useful of water bottles as anchor points against the wind. I also noticed the velcro tape melting down, and by the time I am editing this I have already sawn it with thread and needle to get rid of all problems in the future. The pots aren't pots at all. They are just some cookie boxes, so no wonder they are difficult to handle when they are hot. Also, the oven bags are for just one use, and in part 2 I must have accidentally broken them at the seams. The heat is making the plastic wrinkles fragile. I suggest you go for those silicone transparent bags, though they aren't as transparent as these i have. When possible, use glass. Solar cookers: -Homemade DIY "Fun panel", by designer Teong H. Easily cooking peppers in the sun. Part 2: https://youtu.be/MUg6LNc5Tik Part 3: https://youtu.be/1NgQGwCgRVQ  Now that you ask...YES, we have to wear masks at all times, even at the roof... This is part 1 of three videos showing you some peppers being cooked with the sun. Peppers are easy to cook, since they are vegetables, containing mostly water. I bet you can cook this sort of stuff twice a day, from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 13:30 to 17:00 (In part 2, you'll see the peppers ready by 13:00). Meat and legumes are the hardest to cook, though in days like these, you can reach 120-130ºC between 12:00 and 15:00 and cook such things once a day. This way you can cook almost anything, every day from May until mid-late September. Even two times a day. Simple meals like this one can be cooked on less sunny days, all day long, from sunrise to sunset, but you have to realign the cookers more often and you will be able to reach only 100ish ºC. Meat and legumes will be very difficult with these. I'm yet to test it. Solar cookers: -Homemade DIY "Fun panel", by designer Teong H. Just some flights of the past year, learning how to deal with this spin lover. Anytime you steer, you have to do it veeery softly and just for enough time for it to lean to a side. If you do not immediately release the steering lever, the airplane enters a spin and crashes. There is a small chance of making a sharp turn by inducing this spiin at high altitude and recovering quickly by tturning to the opposite side which is cool but you lose almost all your height. Gliding at zero throttle gets a 1:3 or 1:4 at best gliding ratio. The paper airplane seems to be a mere surface. I tried buiding cambered wings of the same surface but more wingspan and resulted in a very unbalanced airplane so I think the lenght of the paper airplane itself works as a brute force tail stabilizer. I don't quite actually understand how it climbs. It's definitely tail heavy, which makes it point nose up everytime, but... All likes reserved. Copyleft if author mentioned. READ SAFETY INFORMATION BELOW I noticed a grey stripe of aluminum on a recovered bb, so I was wondering which could be the causes of it. Two experiments were made, unfortunately the one that was filmed didn't return any evidences, but the other one seems to give happy news! My smoothbore barrels don't cause any spin on the bb's! :D I find these experiments a good example of how to isolate the factors and put the hypothesis to test. This is an UNEDITED video. It may have defects of video and audio and lack of comments. Please don't judge too severely. Consider this video as a way of sharing my science work, not my editing capabilities.
