On Monday 8 april, we launched the last Outremer 45 to be produced in La Grande-Motte (yes, she's moving). It was an almost historic morning for us on 8 April. It was a morning that brought our teams together for a moment of conviviality, initiated by the owners of the last Outremer 45 produced at La Grande-Motte (many thanks to them for the pastries, coffee and specialities from Poitou). For those of you who haven't kept up to date with our news, the Grand Large Yachting shipyard has expanded! The recent acquisition of the Marsaudon Composites site in Lorient has enabled us to move production of the Outremer 45 to Brittany and increase our production capacity. So Outremer is (partly) leaving the mistral for the noroît. The first Outremer 45 from Lorient are already in production. First launch at the end of the month. Stay tuned ? The Outremer 52 is the second multihull Holly and Stéphane acquired in just 2 years, after selling their first catamaran when they realized it was not quite the right choice for them. In this interview, you'll hear about Holly and Stéphane's experience buying an Outremer 52, including selecting the right sail plan, the advantages of dealing directly with a shipyard, the Outremer coaching programs they've followed, and, of course, their short and long-term navigation plans. Awen is now cruising along the coast of Corsica and will stay in the Western Med until the end of October, when they'll be back in La Grande Motte for the end of the shakedown phase. After that, they will set sail towards the other side of the Atlantic to spend the winter in the Caribbeans, before heading to Florida for the Miami Boat Show, 14-18th of February. Earlier this month, Pierre-Alain and his wife Nicole from Switzerland saw their brand new Outremer 55, named Esya, leave the shipyard and touch the water for the first time, after placing an order in November 2022. Esya is the 24th Outremer 55 catamaran built here in La Grande Motte since 2020, the year it made its grand debut. « After several years of planning and perfecting the plans for the first Outremer 55, production started in January 2020. We had the chance to work during this period with several renowned personalities such as the architects of VPLP Design, as well as the designers Patrick Le Quément and Franck Darnet. » The Outremer 55 won the « European Yacht of the Year » award in 2022 and will be showcased with the Outremer 52 at the upcoming Cannes Yachting Festival, from the 12th to the 17th of September 2023.
