We make a quick decision leaving Minerva Reef to sail to Tonga when we get a gap in the weather. While we made landfall and cleared into Nukualofa, we left the same day to sail up to the Ha'apai Group. Our first stop is Nomuka Iki Island where we get to see first-hand the aftermath of the Tsunami from the 2022 eruption of Hunga Tonga. Despite the havoc the tsunami caused, this is a breathtakingly beautiful area of Tonga to sail and explore. In this video we tackle the rebuild of our 185hp diesel engine aboard Camara. When we rebuilt the boat we never could afford to replace the engine, so we gave it a service and have been dealing with oil leaks and dirty bilges ever since. We finally saved up and ordered a rebuild kit from the UK and when we went on the dock during cyclone Gabrielle we thought we kill two birds with one stone and tackle the engine rebuild at the same time, making the most of our time on the dock. If you are also about to rebuild your engine, hopefully you can find some useful information and motivation from this video. In today's video we continue making our way back from the Lau group, breaking up the trip by stopping at Matuku island where we go for an epic hike with spectacular views. We do another overnight sail from Matuku to Kadavu island, stopping at two places on Kadavu's southern coast where we get our hands on some provisions and a much needed top up on fuel. We hang out at a very scenic anchorage and hike to a waterfall before it's time to sail the last hop across to the main island. Thanks for watching! This video is a short product review for the Hollyland Solidcom C1 Pro headsets. For us it's the first time in over 20 years of sailing that we use 2-way communication aboard. We usually have a set of hand signals we use but after using those headsets we've realised how convenient it is to be able to talk to each other, especially on a large boat like Camara. I can now keep Peter updated on the bow as to depth, how strong the current is and any other information I have available in the cockpit that he would usually have no access to on the bow. Just like he can make me aware of anything that would be hard to convey via hand signals or would require one of our kids to relay. We found the Solidcom C1 Pro headsets to be light and comfortable to wear and they have done well in windy conditions which was our main concern as to how well they would cope in the conditions and cancel out wind noise. The battery life is as great as they advertise and we managed to use them in Minerva reef and throughout Tonga without even having to charge the first set of batteries. Our trip in Fiji's remote Lau group continues. After an epic time in Duff reef we sail the short hop south to Vanua Balavu to meet up with more of our friends before we all sail to the southern Lau. We re-visit one of our favourite places Fulaga where we hang out for a bit. The kids keep busy hunting mud crabs and spending their days in the water while the sailing Mum's keep busy paddleboarding the lagoon each day and we bring our sevusevu and 5 boxes of the newly published Fulaga book to the village and hike up to see remnants (skulls) of the last big battle between Tongans and Fijian's. In this video we take a break from the restoration of 'Little Wing' and our focus shifts to 'Camara' as we haul her after 3.5 years in the water since we launched her at the end of 2018. We haul at Marsden Cove Marina which is one of the few options available for us with our size, tonnage and draft. It's not a cheap undertaking to haul an 80ft yacht so we need to get stuck into the work and get the job done in just one week. Due to sickness at Pete's work he is unable to take time off work and so the prep is up to Mum and Son - can we get it done in time? In this episode we share with you a little three hulled surprise that kept us busy in New Zealand for the summer. Our 17yr old son was given a 31ft Newick Trimaran that had been damaged by a tornado a few years ago and sat in the boatyard for over 7 years. At the tender age of 17 this was an incredible opportunity that was given to him but of course with limited experience and money, it was also very challenging for him to take on a project like this. We were happy to help him with the project, dedicating all our free time helping him with the repairs to make this project possible for him. We are very proud of how much hard work he has put in and his dedication to be working and earning money during the week to cover the cost of repairing his boat and spending every weekend working on his boat. An incredible adventure and life lesson for him! Special thanks to our friend Chris for giving him the opportunity of a lifetime! We are now 'Living the Dream' aboard our second boat, an Ocean 80, which we've rebuilt for 3.5 years and launched at the end of 2018. The idea was to sail around the South Pacific looking for incredible spots to surf, kite surf and explore! Due to the pandemic it didn't all quite pan out the way we thought but we are grateful and fortunate enough to have NZ and Fiji open to us at this stage!

After we arrive in Fiji we make the most of our week of quarantine at anchor and cross a few jobs of our to-do list before we get our health clearance and the all-go to cruise the outer islands. We head straight over to Musket Cove for a 'proper arrival' which means we make the most of being back in the tropics and in our favourite watersport location and get straight back into living the dream! With covid cases rising on the main island we decide to head north up the Yasawas to escape it all and get away from covid and spend our days swimming with majestic Manta Rays.
