2 float planes flying out of Lake Hood in Anchorage loaded with 5 friends and two boats dropped 100 miles north on Chelatna Lake. We had 5 days to float 55 miles south on Lake Creek to our pickup location on the Yentna River. Fishing and camping along the way we ate very well and the conditions couldn't have been more perfect. This summer I spent most of July working remotely from Anchorage and squeezing in as many adventures and excursions as time would allow. These were a few of my favorite memories from a few of the weekends I had to explore Seward, Kenai Fjords, Exit Glacier, and Byron Glacier. The Sea Otters were one of the highlights of the trip for me as they are one of my all-time favorite creatures.
This was hands down one of the coolest things I've ever done. 6 dives over 2 days. We were swarmed by calm and curious lemons, silkies, a few nurse sharks, and a couple of shy bulls that kept their distance. We didn't get to see the 10' male tiger that patrols the area that we were hoping for, but we'll be back. You can't get a more intimate, up close and personal experience with sharks than this. Emerald Charters ran a tight ship and they were true pros in the water. These were among the more challenging dives I've done as you're in strong current and have to begin descending as soon as you hit the water to stay close together as a group. Definitely not a beginner dive.
Vis: 100' | Max Depth: 100' | Conditions: Excellent Operator: South Point Divers Excellent diving conditions to see this epic wreck... This is by far the largest wreck I have been able to dive, and in fact the second-largest artificial reef in the world. I highly recommend this dive if you ever get the chance to go. The outfitter ran a great trip and our dive leader Arden was phenomenal! Song: Intrastellar by thomfjord
Music: Rivers by six60 Several years ago one of my best friends from Pittsburgh moved to Wellington, New Zealand. Upon visiting him a few years later, I quickly realized the parallels between his hometown and his new city. All sports teams are black and yellow across the board, both cities have an incline, both cities are on water, both cities are known for their inclement weather, and while they enjoy pies filled with comfort food, we enjoy pierogies stuffed with comfort food. While visiting we were waiting for the ferry back to the North Island in a park and there was a young couple on a picnic listening to music... I heard a song I had to know. I didn't want to bother them, so I didn't ask. Luckily my friend was able to guess the band and I tracked down the song featured in this video - Rivers, by New Zealand band six60. I couldn't help but think of Pittsburgh and what I love about it when listening to it. (They have since become one of my favorite bands.) The footage in this video was captured over the last 4 years, grabbing drone footage on my bike commute, from home on particularly stellar evenings, and regular evening/early morning weekend kayaking excursions. I hope you enjoy sights and the song, and if you've never been you'll be inspired to visit this great city when you have a chance. #Pittsburgh #Rivers #six60
This video captures the vibrant and diverse forms of life found on the Great Barrier Reef and in the Coral Sea. This footage was filmed over several several days and nights of diving on the Spoilsport with Mike Ball Dive Expeditions. The ship and crew were awesome. Music: Beaches by Robotaki

Pristine scenery while dog sledding, snowboarding, and ice climbing on a long weekend getaway to Banff with good friends just days before the Corona shutdown was put into full effect. I can't wait to go back to see it in the summer months!
