Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/user?u=19042899 After 13 years apart, our family is finally back together-and this trip is all about rediscovering the joy of being with the people we love. We're setting sail on an unforgettable journey through the Whitsundays, exploring beautiful waters, breathtaking landscapes, and the powerful lessons that come with spending quality time as a family. ?? This adventure isn't just about stunning views-it's about letting go of the past and embracing the present. We all carry stories from the past, but it's in the moments we share now that we find the real magic. This trip reminded us of how important it is to let go of old grudges, heal, and reconnect with those who truly matter. Life's too short to hold on to old pain. It's time to show up for each other with love, understanding, and acceptance. As we journey through the Great Barrier Reef-where my mum last visited over 20 years ago-we're reminded of how much has changed in the world, and in ourselves. The reef is struggling, but the real takeaway here is that we all have the power to protect what we love-whether that's our oceans, our families, or ourselves. ?? We hope this adventure inspires you to let go of whatever is holding you back, embrace the people who matter most, and focus on building a future full of love and joy. Together, we can make a difference-for our oceans, for our planet, and for the relationships we cherish. Join us on this journey and be part of something bigger than ourselves. Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/user?u=19042899 This episode we sail all the way to the Percy islands! but it wasn't an easy sail like we planned... we ripped the mainsail as we were only a few hours away from the island group, which forced us to put a reef in the main. luckily we could continue on our journey arriving late that night. so I picked up Arron from the Keppel islands after doing some major repairs on pearl which I wasn't able to share with you guys. but even once the boat jobs are completed its never long before more a made. getting to the Percy islands was Arrons goal, so it was such a surreal experience for him especially as he had never seen the Percy islands before. Arron has a podcast where he shares stories from travellers all around the world doing outrageous things and pushing the limits of the body and mind. if your keen to give the podcast we did together a listen CLICK THE LINK BELOW for my podcast with him where I tell him the FULL story of how I bought pearl for dollar! https://open.spotify.com/episode/6KPloDgUwmc1z5ewvMZdvl ARRONS PODCAST: https://www.diariesofthewildones.com Stay up top date with the coming episodes as this is truly such an epic story and there is much greatness to come! please hit the SUBSCRIBE BUTTON if you haven't already I've been really enjoying making this kind of video for you guys and to show your appreciation you can subscribe and make some comments down below thanks for always watching the videos I really appreciate it! Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/user?u=19042899 Today I pick up an Ocean Hitchhiker called Aaron shanks as we head for the second most remote island group in AUSTRALIA. THE PERCY ISLANDS We left the kpoepples to set off on this adventure only knowing each other for 1 day prior and let me tell we get along like a house on fire! As we Venture up the coast we are constantly looking for ways to live off the land. on the first day we ate LOBSTER caught off the side of pearl and 3 fish! The following day we found a Private Bay that had coconut trees and a beaituflly protected anchorage. as the journey continues we ran into a HUGE LIGHTING STORM! which was a super wild experience! not long after that we seek shelter from the rainy conditions that were approaching as we waited for a weather window to get out to the Percy islands! Aaron has a Podcast and has adventured all around the wording doing some pretty incredible things, you can find his podcast here and you can also have a listen to the podcast we did together talking about this journey. https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/hitchhiking-to-a-remote-island/id1450451028?i=1000548153661 Stay up top date with the coming episodes as this is truly such an story and there is much greatness to come! please hit the SUBSCRIBE BUTTON if you haven't already I've been really enjoying making this kind of video for you guys and to show your appreciation you can subscribe and make some comments down below thanks for always watching the videos I really appreciate it! this episode we dig into the rotten timber that was recently discovered on my last open ocean passage when I saw that I had split my hull open. I thought I had competed all of the rotten timber work when I restored the boat but as time has gone I I realise that its an ongoing task to stay onto of! sorry the episode is out late I've been out at the Percy islands soaking in the island life.l I have some super epic content coming your way! stay tuned for the next episodes and I hit the sea only to face more and more drama! it really means the world to me if you would subscribe as I pour 5 days of my week into these videos and creating all the music for them swell which take another 2 days to create and they are completely free for you to watch. so as a means of showing your appreciating sharing the videos with your friends and commenting on the videos your thoughts or past experiences means the world! This was a really scary time! after I split my hull open on the passage from ruins point to Musgrave I didn't end up realising what had happened until I started heading back to 1770. the split happened on the previous passage when it was blowing 25KTS PLUS! I FELT ABIT SILLY THAT I DIDN'T REALISE IT HAD HAPPENED UNTILL LATER... luckily nothing truly life threatening happened and the split did not continue + it as above the water line.. but if it had it kept splitting and was close to the water line it would have been a much different situation! I loved creating the music for this video and truly enjoy adding that element of creating to my videos. the free diving in the episode was some of the greatest diving I had ever done and just felt so blesses by the magic that was underneath the surface. the creatures down there as just on another level and I would highly recommend to anyone on the easy coast of Australia to check out lady Musgrave when you get the chance! it really means the world to me if you would subscribe as I pour 5 days of my week into these videos and creating all the music for them swell which take another 2 days to create and they are completely free for you to watch. so as a means of showing your appreciating sharing the videos with your friends and commenting on the videos your thoughts or past experiences means the world! this episode I head out to the reef after being in Hervey Bay (K'Gari) for over month. after a long anticipated weather window we set off into open ocean with a split in my mast and a newly installed anchor winch and drama that was about to unfold which I had no idea about! I had never been out onto the open ocean before with my dad so I was soo excited to share this experience with him as we sailed alongside each other. although some wild stuff went down I still felt filled with joy being at lady Musgrave and knowing that I made it there in one piece! I started to live on the ocean by the age of 20... Whales are a huge part of my life and have been for over 11 years. My Imagination was always nurtured as a child so I think having that as my upbringing allowed me to take life by the balls and follow my happiness. I didn't want to waste any of my life so I followed my dreams early and didn't listen to the people saying otherwise. I takes courage to follow your dreams and to do something different. but courage is something I have. I made all the music in this video as I was editing, it's something I really enjoy doing. I think it adds a lot to my videos so I hope you can appreciate the extra effort put into making the video. DON'T BE SHY TO HIT THE SUBSCRIBE BUTTON! in this videos I install my new engine. I've never done anything like this before so I was learning a lot along the way. after releasing that my previous engine was not worth fixing I went out and found this engine online to fit to my boat. after some time of organising and coordinating weather and timing. I picked it up from Hervey Bay marine only to be met with the new problems of installing a new engine which I go through in this video. she's not the most beautiful video but this vid portrays the reality of owning a boat and having to undergo maintenance. I hope you learnt something from the video and get ready for my journey all the way home in the next video. please hit the SUBSCRIBE BUTTON if you haven't already. We had an awesome sail into Noosa and found ourselves tucked away behind a hedland to bunker down while some crazy weather passed through. The days went on and on waiting and waiting for an opportunity to leave Noosa and finally when I came my engine didn't turn on and my zodiac popped! Christmas was close by at this stage and my crew decided to leave the boat. Which left me alone onboard stuck in a river with only a lot of issues to try and fix before my departure as soon as the weather and my boat would permit. So I buckled down to try to solve all of my problems alone. This was the first time being onboard alone and the first time trying to fix my engine. Haha or zodiac... Let's just say it took a bit longer to trouble shoot as I was learning a lot in these times. Hope you liked the video. the next one is already complete so ill be posting that in a week :) HIT THE SUBSCRIBE BUTTON :D if you haven't already. really helps me and the algorithm out :D Thanks for always watching the videos I really appreciate it! We get hit by a lighting storm as we were anchored at Peel island. Peel Island is a small heritage-listed island located in Moreton Bay, east of Brisbane, in South East Queensland, Between 1907 and 1959 the island was a leper colony. The island is only accessible by watercraft. sharks are known to inhabit these waters. so as beautiful is it was we were eager to get moving. we spent all day sailing to Bribie island which is a small coast island connected to Australia with a large 4 way bridge. spending only 1 night there we set sail for Mooloolaba which was 65 kms northward. a short but exciting few days on the boat. hope you enjoy :D Hope you liked the video. the next one is already complete so ill be posting that in a week :) HIT THE SUBSCRIBE BUTTON :D if you haven't already. really helps me and the algorithm out :D Thanks for always watching the videos I really appreciate it!
