I have been exploring around our backyard here in Oregon. Here is a simple artistic take on viewing the cascade mountain range outside of Bend Oregon. Breathtaking views of Mt Bachelor, Broken Top, and South Sister mountain with fresh fall snow giving me a glimpse of winter to come.

Before sailboat life we would spend our weekends and vacation time camping with our Jeep Wrangler and overloading Offroad trailer. We did a collaboration with Clayton Offroad and their 2.5" Long Arm Suspension Kit back in 2016 and have put some 60 thousand miles on this setup. We continue our mad dash south, pushing our Gemini 105mc catamaran hard and ourselves even harder, to provision in La Paz before making our crossing to Mainland Mexico. Some sleepless nights and fun sailing, we finally make it back into the anchorage of La Paz, Baja Sur California, Mexico for a big grocery haul to stock the boat up for the upcoming 300 mile sailing journey ahead. We see the hurricane damage first hand, get plenty of ice cream, run into old friends, and prepare ourselves for the adventure ahead! Sailing and word travel isn't for the faint of heart, but the unexpected was how easy it is to make strong friendships in such a short time and have to quickly say goodbye. The calling for adventure pushes us outside of our comfort zone but pulls on the strings of our hearts as we search for community, belonging, understanding, and connection. The world is beautiful and I am learning more and more that the people within it are more beautiful than the landscape. As we sail our catamaran in the Sea Of Cortez, Mexico, it isn't without its problems. Weather forecasts are way off and we find ourselves running out of fuel with no wind available but larger seas causing even more issues. We trek on and make it to a beautiful anchorage where we meet amazing new friends and catch up with others we met last year during our travels. After a month of disaster after disaster, learning boat insurance is worthless, and really thinking that we may be done with our sailing season already, we sail off to cross back into Baja to those places that feel like home. Back to the land where desert meets the sea, blue waters, and beauty. We did it!

Our Gemini 105mc catamaran sailboat is having some terrible luck in the boat yard. First the bulkhead fiberglass getting ripped out because of improper placement of the blocks and now a mast falls down! We need to get out of here and back to sailing our catamaran in beautiful locations around Mexico. The stress levels are super high as we try and repair our boat and leave town.

This was a terrible start to our second season sailing our Gemini 105mc catamaran in Mexico. Bad luck after bad luck seemed to strike as we attempted to get our sailboat back into the water. We had a mast fall, cracked fiberglass, insurance, everyone got sick and you name it, it probably happened.

Coastal cruising the pacific coastline. With the next winter sailing season coming upon us, I compiled all of our previous episodes of our coastal cruising sailing journey down the pacific coastline of Baja California, Mexico. Leaving from San Diego we explored Ensenada, Punta Colonet, San Quintin, the popular stop for the Baja HaHa, Turtle Bay, Santa Maria, Magdalena Bay, and ending the southern journey in Cabo San Lucas before rounding the corner into the Sea Of Cortez. Our little Gemini 105mc pocket catamaran did a fantastic job getting our family safely into Baja. What a journey it was as our first major cruising adventure.
