You are probably noticing that we are in a different location than in the last video, but yes, we are headed into the shipyard once again! As with any project that's the first of its kind, there are some kinks to work out and this particular job is a tall order. Follow along and see what's happening on board this time. Our first video back after a bit of a hiatus. Lots has been going on behind the scenes and we are able to share a bit about where we are at now. Going back in time a bit in this video to the first time I was able to walk through the boat at night. This is a very important part of the construction process. Since this initial look we have been able to set scenes and have toned down all the lighting to the point where it draws half the amount of electricity that it initially did. Check it out!

A short one for you this week, but we wanted to make sure there was an update as to what's happening with the boat now. A lot is going on in China, progress is being made, but we are off the boat and on the move again. Tune in to find out what's happening.

In this video I continue the discussion with Chris about the solar panel setup of the vessel, why we should or should not automate our energy systems, and then take you on a tour of how we have initially set up the iPads in the guest rooms to manage the lighting onboard.

In this video Chris Staub is back to discuss all aspects of power management onboard, including both the production and the consumption. We identify all the big power consumers and how fast we can recharge our battery bank. There's a lot to consider when running the systems on a boat like this and we are happy to give you an insight into the process.

Stepping away from our traditional content, this week's video shares a bit more of our Chinese experience. Part of doing business in China is maintaining your Visa status. We realized a bit late that I was coming to the end of my 60-day window and needed to leave China and reset my stay. Normally this would be a quick, same-day turnaround but we took advantage of the national holiday and the fact that work on the boat would be paused in order to make this Visa run a little more enjoyable. An exciting one today! The work on the hard is done and it's time for the boat to head back into the pond and then on to its final day of sea trials. You'll get to see the results of all HH's hard work come together and a pretty great day out sailing. Hope you enjoy!

We have gone through the initial phase of sea trials and now it's time to haul out, make the changes and do the remedial work that was decided on during the last two weeks. Follow along to see the haul out process, some work on the keels, interior finishing and a special addition that we requested to the exterior.

As our sea trials continue we set all the sails for the first time. Come along for what we think is a pretty phenomenal first sail where we actually hit 10 knots!

Sea trials are continuing for HH8801 and we are testing new systems every day. In this video I take you through the process of launching and retrieving our tender and jet ski. A lot of engineering went into this process and we are pretty happy with the result.

We're on the move! It feels pretty surreal but we have made it out of the HH marina and the process of sea trials has begun. Follow along as we fire up the engines, navigate out of the channel and test the responsiveness of the vessel in the open (well, almost open) ocean. Driving the boat for the first time is a huge achievement and I'm looking forward to sharing it with you all. *And yes, I know there is a spelling mistake in the words that pop up. You'll still get the meaning though so don't worry about pointing it out.
