For me it’s the people you meet and the time you spend getting to know a place that makes the experiences special. With travel you can tick of the “must see” locations, or the highest rated restaurants and bars, or stay in coolest hotels as many as you can fit in a trip. But as we keep learning, an area does not open its self up to you quickly and only happens after genuine connections with the locals. We have been spending quite a bit of time the past few weeks in Moorea and met a positive, smiling, passionate local lady, Laurence Anzai and her equally cool family. Laurence runs a café – Lilikoi Garden Café Moorea, a Deli, a hiking group, yacht services, event catering and now she is looking to start a Local Food Tour! Like me, Laurence is passionate about local organic produce, sustainable farming and great notorious food. So she invited Barry, Cyn and myself to be her very first participants on her Moorea Food Tour. We had so much fun, learnt about local farming, cultural traditions in Polynesia, where to source our produce along the way and finished the day with a cooking class and enjoying the delicious creations in a stunning location. Ever wanted the opportunity to sail with us? Well here it is!!! Our current Core Crew Sam and Estelle are wrapping up their ROAM time in the next couple of weeks so Liss and I are on the lookout for our next crew to help carry on the SailSurfROAM Adventure! It feels like not so long ago that our crew mates, adventure enthusiasts, new friends and now Roam Family, Sam and Estelle @stellamelatravel contacted us to see if they could join us for a Roam adventure. It's has been a great 5 months of sailing and exploring with you both. We are sad to be soon saying our goodbyes to these guys. Thanks so much for making this video! A behind the scenes interview with new friends Russel and Karin Carlyon. Shortly after arriving in New Zealand we met Russel and Karin. Russel welcomed us into his workshop to do some repairs of our own, as well as into their family home with a warm cruiser style welcoming. We wanted to thank them so we made this video. It takes you behind the scenes at OC Tenders and give you a glance into the construction of the Custom built and designed composite tender. During their 7 years circumnavigation Russell & Karin Carlyon realized that none of the tenders available in the market provided all of the key aspects they felt were important for a good tender, so when they returned they filled this need in the market and started making their own design. We are impressed by this family run company and hope this video will help answer some questions you may have about the OC Tender. Thanks again for sharing your bench space Russ.

Liss and Michael mountain bike to the stunning waterfalls with a scary rock jump whilst Holly gets her dream day horse riding up the beautiful coconut palm forest - Andy struggles along for the ride. Then we grab the bikes again and set off to the natural waterslides where a load of local children show us how to have fun. We are then ready to get back in the water and anchor off a secret break for a few days where we get some sick waves and have an amazing time before setting off back towards Nadi. Team ROAM sail upwind to the remote Southern Lau Group in Fiji, this is our most amazing destination to date. This island paradise is so remote, so untouched and so incredible. We spend days exploring the island, looking at human bones from the cannibal days, kitesurfing on a deserted sand spit and getting to spend time with the most amazing locals. We were so welcomed into the Fulaga community that we didn't want to leave. We all agreed that these are some of the kindest, friendliest and most generous people ever.
